The Runaway

I knew it! I shouldn't have agreed to him! This is clearly going to be a disaster. Help me.

All eyes are on us now. I do my best at avoiding all of them by looking down at the floor, trying to hide my face. But Josh is doing the opposite. He's smiling and waving at people. Really?! He looks like he's proud for holding hands with a nobody.

I hear some whispers and murmurs but Josh's words stick to my head: I honestly don't care. Why would I? Then a girl with blonde hair and glasses comes in front of us. "Hi, I'm Jasmine, and I work for the school's newspaper. I was wondering what your name is?" she says, looking at me. "Why?" Josh asks. "Well, everybody's staring at you and I'm pretty sure you guys are a big news," Jasmine says. "Sorry but-" I got cut by by Josh. "I'm Josh Hutcherson and this my new girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence," he says with a smug.

Then I hear screaming and shouting and cheering.

WHAT?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!

"You okay?" Josh asks me, still holding my hand. I can't take it anymore. I let go of his hand and run towards the girls' bathroom. I get into one of the cubicles. Don't cry, Jen. Don't cry. It's okay. Don't cry.

But I feel my eyes burning and tears start to roll down my cheeks.

Where on earth is she?

I've been looking for her everywhere. I walk to corridors and ask people if they saw Jennifer anyway. "No," is the response I always get.

Damn it. I give up. I'll just go to her house later after class.

I'm still in the bathroom. I don't want to go out and be seen my people. But I know I can't stay here forever. So I get out of the cubicle and was surprised that some girls are actually in the bathroom, not like it's unusual. It's just that when I went in, nobody was here. And now there are three girls retouching their makeup in front of the mirror. One of them has medium, dark hair and kind of tannish skin. She caught my eye and turns her back on me.

Then I realize the other two girls are her cronies.

And she is the girl Josh has been talking about. She's the one who won't stop creeping on him.
