JOHN DANVERS felt regret everyday, every breath was filled with regret, his thoughts, his words. But they'd be soothed by his conscious which always said on a loop, 'you didn't know better' 'things happen, we move on'. However, his conscious could never clear up or calm him now. Nothing could.
━━━━━ 𝓙ohn stood by Hopper as the two eyed the creature before them. John swallowed a lump in his throat as he he truly could not believe what was before his eyes. Disbelief, confusion, guilt, anger ━━━ anger due to himself for not believing his wife. And now his daughter was in the same boat, and he couldn't protect her, he wasn't sure on how to. But he was damn sure he wouldn't allow her to go through what his wife had undergone. History was not going to repeat itself, if he had anything to do with it.
Owens' voice brought him back to reality as the creature let out a guttural growl. "Mother of God." The creature stood up on its back legs and banged on the glass.
Hopper leant down to its level only to step back as the Demogorgon hit its head against the window. It continued its abuse against the glass as they stepped back.
"It's... it's polycarbonate. It can't get through." Owens addressed, though John noted the hesitation in his tone as he spoke. It wasn't going to hold it.
At the same time a loud growl left the Demogorgon, a call to its comrades; who all began to climb up the side of the walls of the gaping hole and to the surface before them.
John stepped back as the glass began to crack upon the impact of the Demogorons.
"You sure about that glass?" Hopper asked warily.
Suddenly Owens pressed the emergency evacuation knob on the console, an alarm blared throughout the facility alerting everyone.
John looked over to Hopper, "The kids."
Above them, Sam tried to wake his sister up who blinked lazily up at him. "Something's happening, we have to go."
"What?" She asked, sleep still evident in her tone and her glazed doe eyes. She sat up seeing Mike holding up a needle and gesturing towards Will, she glanced around her seeing glass littered the floor as well as a cloth of blood that laid next to her. She looked to her brother than down to his sleeve, she gripped on the material with questioning eyes.
"You passed out, Will gave us away. He was spying on us, not the Flayer." Sam briefly explained as Elena stared over to an angry Will Byers.
