Fatto sta che questa canzone tratta un'argomento che sinceramente se detto così alzerebbe un polverone.
La canzone in sé è un pò una critica alle aziende di sfruttamento di animali e distruggono le foreste, inquonano eccetera. La domanda infatti più ripetuta nel brano è "what you gon' do when there's blood in the water?" ovvero "cosa vuoi fare quando c'è sangue nell'acqua?". Questa è una metafora che starebbe per "cosa farai quando avrai distrutto tutto, le risorse finiranno il buco nell'ozono si allargherà fino ad eliminarlo completamente e i raggi solari bruceranno tutto ciò che incontrano?". Poi c'è anche il fatto che l'uomo - specialmente se fa tanti soldi con le aziende o cose così - vuole sempre più soldi, perdendo di vista cose come la famiglia e gli amici diventando avido e manipolatore (non in tutti i casi, poi magari c'è il ricco santarellino, che ne so)
E infine il modo di esse egocentrico delle persone che svanisce solo quando perde qualcosa o qualcuno a cui tiene, ovvero, quando capiscono che non controllano qualsiasi cosa ma solo una parte di eventi sono dettati dalla loro volontà, mentre il resto è karma, caso, fato o come lo volete chiamare.
