Chapter Fifteen: Naked Confessions

After Valentine's Day, Yuerong seemed to be increasingly on edge. Every time his phone pinged, he grabbed it as if he were expecting bad news. I finally couldn't take it anymore and asked him. He was making me nervous.

"Yuerong, What is going on? You are more and more anxious every day."

He sighed. "It's my sister. Ever since Valentine's Day, she has been on a mission to get a boyfriend."

I laughed. "Your sister is always on a mission to get a boyfriend."

Yuerong frowned at me. "That's not what I mean. She's serious now. She had a boyfriend before, but he was scared away by grandfather as soon as he found out they were sleeping together, and she was giving him money."

My eyebrows rose. I knew that Yue Wu had been dating, but I didn't realize she had been that serious. "Maybe, she's just sad and lonely now that she no longer has a serious boyfriend."

Yuerong scoffed. "Serious?!" He said incredulously. "Yue Wu wasn't serious. She just wanted the sex!"

I felt my face flush while Yuerong's expression of frustration didn't change one bit. "My sister likes hot guys and fooling around all the time. My grandfather worries about her getting harassed because of it, but she argued with him about whether he would be after her as much if she were a guy and why couldn't women have the same sex drive as men, so he left her alone. He stepped in last time because he found out about the money."

I didn't know what to say. I guess she is right. Why do we all assume it's okay for guys to sleep with multiple people but not women.

"She has now started bugging Xiang Shi more and more. He told me she keeps trying to meet guys online, so he's had to repeatedly come over to fix her computer. Since she is always going to shady portals and dating apps to talk to guys, she keeps getting viruses on her computer.  Now she's decided why use those portals when Xiang Shi is right there. The other day, he practically ran out of here because she was getting so handsy with him."

"Xiang Shi? My brother's Xiang Shi? Is she doing it to get back at Jundao because he isn't interested in her?"

Yuerong looked worried. "I don't think so, although I think she's annoyed that he and Xiang Shi spend so much time together. She thinks that Xiang Shi should be focusing on her more since we're distant cousins."

He stopped abruptly and got up to cross the room like he didn't want to look at me.

"I think she sees Jundao as a rival for Xiang Shi since she knows that he has dated both men and women."

I knew that, too. I wondered if my brother knew that as well. I also knew that since even before Xiang Shi moved in with my brother, he had stopped seeing anyone else. Not just dating. Xiang Shi only loved my brother and has for years. My brother feels the same way, but he didn't realize it. This was not good.

However, what I noticed then was that Yuerong kept glancing at me as if he were nervous about my reaction.

"Well, she should give up. Xiang Shi really only likes my brother."

"You don't mind?" Yuerong asked.

"What do you mean? Why would I mind? Xiang Shi is kind and better to my brother than his mother or my dad. In fact, I wonder if Jundao even deserves him since he seems not to notice Xiang Shi's devotion."

"But, he's a guy."

"And? You're a guy." I couldn't understand what he was saying to me then. I cringe now thinking about what an idiot I was when I was so busy thinking my brother was an idiot. I remember thinking why would I care if my brother loved a man when I loved a man. Why was Yuerong worried?
