Jaidens point of view
I sigh, heavily, as I move the last box into my new apartment. I lean against the door to catch my breath. Who knew I had so much stuff. Not me, that's for sure.
I still need to unpack, too. I groan, unhappy about the work still needing to be done. I unbox my computer and everything first, setting it up in the spare room. After hooking up my computer to the wifi, i play some music to keep myself going.
I hear a knock on the door. I sigh, pausing my music. When I opened the door, im met with the familiar face of my best friend, Aria. I smile at her. "Hey, girl! Heard you were, uh, movin'? Need any help?" She asked, faking a Texan accent.
"Yeah, i do, sis." I say, also in a heavy Texas accent. "Hey that's no fair! You're originally from Texas." She complained. "I haven't been to Texas in like, 9 years. I moved away when i was 10. I've kinda fallen out of calling myself Texan." I say, honestly.
"You can just not consider yourself Texan if you're from Texas, hon." She said. "I know, I know. It's just annoying having people ask if you're from here when you speak." I say.
I've been able to cut my accent down, so its only slightly noticable now, but when i was around 7, my accent was very noticable. Annoyingly noticable, even.
"Whatever. You gonna let me in or we just gonna chill here at the door?" She asked, breaking me out of my thoughts. I rolled my eyes and step aside. "C'mon, cmon, make yourself at home, why don't you." I say, sarcastically as she flops onto my couch.
"Oh, i will! Thanks for the offer!" She said, sarcasm dripping from her voice. We stare at each other for a few minutes then break down in laughter.
"Oi i will, thanks fer' the offer." I mock her, causing us to laugh even harder. Soon, we're wheezing and having a coughing fit on my floor. "We are-- we--" I continued laughing.
"We are total chi--" I cough. "ChildrEN." My voice cracks. We laugh harder. After about ten minutes, we calmed down. Just heavily breathing.
"Haven't laughed like that since you left 3 weeks ago." She admits. "Me neither." I smile at her. She smiles back. "Well, we got some unpacking to do." I sit up and clap my hands.
I shuffle my spotify playlist. A familiar guitar tune plays. The next few words confirmed my thought on the song. "Hey there, Delilah, what's it like in new york city? I'm a thousand miles away but girl tonight you look so pretty, yes you do." I smile. The song continues.
I lightly sing along, unaware of Aria filming me. "See, you're a youtuber when you could be a singer!" She exclaims. "You're unbelievable!" She says, laughing. I stuck my tounge out at her.
"Singing takes a talent i dont have!" I argue. "I have a video that says otherwise." She smirks. My smile fades. "I'm posting it to my instagram story." She smiles. I sigh.
"You are shocking, you know." I ask, jokingly. She nods, laughing.
An hour into sorting my stuff, my phone dings.
Dreamwastaken wants to send you a message.
