Jaiden POV

I make the mental note to go shopping later. I sigh, falling back onto my bed. The song "Fergalicious" by Fergie comes on. I laugh a bit. I record a short video of me, a boomerang one, and post it on my instagram story.

I get multiple replies in the first 10 minutes but only look at the ones from my friends. Then, i get a notification from Sapnap messaging me. I click it.

I laugh, gently, blushing lightly. The image attached was a screenshot from my story.

I sent the last text as a joke. He just sent back laughing emojis. "Yo, grandma?" I call out. "What?" She calls back. "I'm gonna go to a cafè and then to a store for more clothes while im here, okay?" I say, louder but getting softer as I walk out. She simply nods.

"Need any money?" She asked. "No, no im good. Thanks though." I smile, walking out the door. "Hmm.. cafe, cafe, cafe..." I say, quietly, checking each building.

"Ah! Cafe!" I exclaim, walking into the door. The air conditioning flowing gently through the building. A bell dings as I walk though. A few heads look up to see who it was, but no one said anything to me.

I walk up to the front of the cafe to order. "Hi, can I just get a hot chocolate and a four-cheese bagel, please?" I asked, nicely. The worker nods. "I'll have that right out." He smiled. I nodded, mumbling a thanks and walking to a seat.

I sigh as I sit down. After 5 minutes, the same worker came out and handed me my food. I thank him, again, and open my hot chocolate. I gently take my laptop out, planning on doing some scripting for my next video.

I do more then just minecraft, see. I also do some skits on my second channel. Its fun. Im going to try and finish this script here, now. I don't know when the place closes, though.

A woman walked into the building. I recognize her, immediately. "Mom?" I asked, confused. "What are- what are you doing back in Texas, Jaiden?" She asked, confused herself. She hesitantly sat down at my table, across from me.

"Just- Visiting grandma, you know. Im only here two weeks, dont worry." I say, quickly. She nods.

My mom and I had never been on the best terms. Ever since I was thirteen, she wasn't very supportive of my choices. First i wanted to be an artist, which she thought I meant musical, but no. Literal pencil to paper artist. She told me I wouldn't get far with that, so i kinda just gave up.

Now, I'm a youtuber and she doesnt support that either. But, my life not hers. "How's, uh, how's your youtube thing going?" She asked, curious. I smiled. "Good, good. I have 1.5 million subscribers, my own merch store, and a bunch of good friends who support me through all of this." I smile, remembering the dream team and everyone else.

She nods. "I see. Well, i-i gotta go, it was nice seeing you again, sweetie. Message me, wont you? We've been so distanced since you left." I nodded.

20 minutes after she left, Infinished my script and got up to leave. (Yes, i paid for my stuff)

Getting up, i started packing up all my stuff. When it was all secure in my bag, i got up to leave.

I turned around to thank the guy who served me, once again, and then walked out.

5 minutes of walking to the store, i turn a corner, unknowing to the person who was also turning. We bumped into each other, me nearly losing my balance.

"Oh my gosh, i am so, so sorry." I apologized immediately.

"Oh no, no, it was my fault I wasn't watching where i was going.." they faded out, the voice filling with realization.

"Wait..."
