Alvatrosian Felinas and human visitors alike milled about in the bar, dining and drinking. Alone, in the shadow, staying out of attention, sat a blue-haired girl. People often stopped by and said hello to her, because she was Krista after all, an infamous rebel during the Droug oppression of Alvatros, and a major player in defeating the Droug once and for all. Now she was being tasked with hunting down what was left of the Droug and stopping them from regathering any sort of force. That had been her job for years, after Alvatros had been fully rebuilt. Krista would've enjoyed it more if she could spend it with the person whom she loved, Samuel Kyber from Black Plasma Studios.
Oh, the times they had back in the day. They met when the Droug general turned rebel ally and hero Varek had dragged Sam into Alvatros, and Krista had crossed paths with him. Even though he was a human and she was a Felina, they still formed an unbreakable bond, forged in the heat of battle and his care for her when she was injured. They had gone on many adventures before finally defeating the Droug, but then they'd had to separate. Krista had to return to Alvatros to rebuild and aid her home, and Sam had to stay behind on Earth to help his own home. It had been years since then - they had not met since. They'd simply been too busy.
Krista fumbled through her inventory and procured a photograph of Sam. He was in a typical fancy suit with his neat chocolatey brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes. He was sipping a cup of tea like usual. How she wished to see him again. She knew he had to feel the same way too.
"Krista." A voice called, as a figure sat down across from her. A male Felina with red hair, almost foxlike. She recognized him as Marco, an employer of hers. She'd been hired by many to hunt down the remnants of the Droug civilization. Marco was just the most recent.
"What are you here for?" Krista asked, uninterested.
"Well, I may just have a new assignment for you, but this one might be a little... odd, to say the least." Marco claimed. He fumbled through his pockets and took out a newspaper, showing it to Krista. She read the headline.
"Reprogrammed Droug militia attacks Plasmatropolis square, kills many Ardoni gang members..." Krista read aloud. "What is this? What is this?" Her face twisted into an expression of anger, but then she continued reading. Apparently a man called "William" had programmed these Droug to serve him and was threatening to take over Plasmatropolis, a city on Earth where BPS - and Sam - lived. The Droug weren't orange like usual, but this time purple.
"There's nobody I know with more experience fighting the Droug scum than you." Marco told her when she set down the newspaper. Krista was trembling. After seven years, Plasmatropolis had been attacked again by the Droug, albeit this time reprogrammed Droug.
"I'm guessing you want me to go there and stop this." Krista stated, to which Marco nodded. In reality, Krista was excited. If she went to Plasmatropolis to deal with this issue, then she could finally see Sam again. She'd been waiting for that for years now. She should have visited him, and she didn't know why she never did. "But... what about Adek and his forces?"
"Leave them be for now." Marco instructed. "This is a bigger priority."
But, although Krista did not tell this to Marco, she had another idea. Adek was a Droug commander who had survived and now led an army of Droug who managed to get away and regroup. They had a few hidden bases in the world of Alvatros. Krista had previously been sent to deal with Adek and his forces, and she knew how they were. Unlike many of the Droug she'd known before their defeat, Adek and his armies were more honourable and significantly less sinister. What if she went to Adek and told him about what this "William" person had done to the Droug he was now using as an army? How would Adek react to the news that his fallen comrades were now being reprogrammed to serve a human for his own ambition?
