"A few of this, a few of that, and... beat ya again, meow!" said Bella as she waved her Wii Remote around. She and Vista were at her apartment playing a balancing game on her Wii U, and this was the third time Bella had beaten her.
"Aw, man! How are you so good at games like this?" said Vista.
"Cats have a great sense of balance, so it's no surprise that I'll be good at a game like this." Bella winked. She was part-cat, and it is a well-known fact that cats are good balancers. And her sense of balance was one that had to be seen to be believed.
"I give up. You win!" Vista flopped on the floor, looking defeated.
"Hey, don't be like that, meow. Maybe you'll win in the next game I boot up here. It's a sports game!" Bella told her.
"Wait, really?! Oh boy, count me in!" Vista jumped up again. "I'm sure to beat you this time!"
Knock knock knock.
"Eh?"
"Someone's at the door!" Bella rushed over to it and opened. "Welcome! Come-" then she stopped abruptly.
"Huh? What's wrong?" asked Vista. She went over to where Bella was standing. "Oh hey, it's Mimi! What's up?"
"H-Hey guys..." muttered Mimi. Mimi was part-dog, and she was quite shy and bashful. "I was bored, s-so I decided to come here. You don't mind, do you....?"
"Of course we don't mind, Mimi. Come inside," said Vista. Then she looked at Bella. "You OK, Bella? You seem uneasy."
"What do you mean? I'm fine, meow!" she replied, but her teeth were gritted, and one of her eyes were twitching.
"If you say so..." Vista turned back to Mimi. "Well, go on in."
"Thanks, Vista..." Mimi was about to go inside the apartment when-
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Bella suddenly lunged forward and wrestled Mimi to the ground, hissing, snarling and scratching.
"What- AAAAAAAAAAGGHH!! Get her off!" Mimi started fighting to get Bella off of her.
"BELLA!! What did you do that for?!" Vista shrieked, and ran to her and tried pulling her off Mimi as well. "Get... off... right now!"
When she was able to get her off of Mimi, Bella was still hissing and snarling, and was squirming around in Vista's arms, struggling to be put down.
"Hey! Hey! Bella, stop that! Don't scratch! STOP!"
"HISSSSSSSS! SNARRRRRLLL...." Bella would not relent, and was still struggling.
As this was ensuing, Mimi slowly got up. She opened the door and ran out of the apartment as quickly as she could.
"Meoooow!" Bella jumped out of Vista's grasp and was about to run out the door, but Vista was too quick for her. She got to the door before Bella could, slammed it shut and locked it. "Oh no, you're not! Now, keep calm, or you're staying here!"
"Grrrrrrrr..." Bella was prepared to lunge at Vista now.
"Ummm... uhhhhhh..." Vista looked around, panicking. She spotted a can of sardines on a table, ran to it, opened it as quickly as she could, then set the can down. "Hey, look, Bella, fish!"
"Fish? Where?!" Bella forgot about lunging at her, and was scanning the apartment excitedly now.
"Over here!" Vista pointed at the can of sardines on the floor.
"Fiiiish!" Bella ran to the can, picked it up and started chowing the fish. After she'd eaten all of it, she'd calmed down and stopped hissing and snarling.
