When Chanhee was born but his father didn't want him. If he killed the child he would be called a murderer so he didn't.
When Beomgyu was born his father still didn't want either of them so he fought with his wife and used it as an excuse for why he actually wanted to divorce.
Then since his mum was a gold digger she left Chanhee and Beomgyu. Their Aunty adopted them but she later died one day after Chanhee's 20th birthday.
