17: The Trap

I stepped into the police station and I was welcomed warmly and I also did few thing like washing my hands, checking if my temperature is normal and also use my hand sanitizer. The sanitation check was successful then I headed  into the reception. I was welcomed by a junior cop which was thankfully a female , like it would have been so embarrassing to express myself to a male cop.

I am asked to write a statement because at times the cops realise that people may find it difficult to express themselves ,so if i really don't wanna be asked some questions , i can back them off and also ask for a break at any time.

"my Mother married another man after the death of my father in a plane crash, my mother is a very busy business woman who works day and night just to put food on the table .my stepfather is a rich man but I seem he's a very stingy person cuz he doesn't like spending his money on things that is seems  unnecessary to him,since my mother, according to him is not to satisfying his sexual urges,started raping me and it became a continuous activity for him to do every blessed day.
he makes sure to use a protective sheet ,do as not to get me pregnant or get me affected ,but after complaining to my mother about the incident are I've been going through since all these days, my mother confronted him so in the process of doing so, they had an argument and before I knew what was going on ,he beats her up to death ,I really think it was an unintentional killing of my mother because after beating her ,he left her lying helplessly I know it's  was due to the merciless beating that lead to her death.I can't place judgement that he killed  my mother  except the law says so, I've access my fate and handed him to the hands inside God.
After the death of my mother, he kept on raping me then someone advise me to report to the police. on the fateful day the  person who advised  me to report  saved me and handed him over to the police. The person helped me through but I had to leave the person alone because of some circumstances happened along the line, and now  my stepfather is  threatening me so come back to him and also to bring my mother's properties document because' he has to gain from marrying her '(note the sarcasm)"

After writing my statement ,I am asked to check if the informations written are accurate and if there's any mistake, it can be corrected. And i  can also ask a cop to read it to me. As the case may be.

After that , I am be asked to sign the statement if I am sure it's the accurate account of what happened because any thing  I write here shall be used in support or against me in the court of law.

Few minutes after my statement has been accessed , because of my case ,which is rape,the cop believes that I am 'vulnerable ' or 'intimidated ' according to the law. So I am to make a video recorded statement. I was led to an equipped video suite where I would be interviewed. I am being given advice on how to place and speak about my experience and I am appointed a supporter who will help me through the video statement. The good thing is that I am not compulsorily going to give my evidence before or during the interview.

  This Is exactly what I said and also wrote as statement

After under going the video recorded statement, I am asked to point out the culprit which I did immediately and after an identity test is carried out and the results actually brought out people that resemble and also people that  has the same name of my stepfather ,since I remembered his face like I am actually seeing ,I point him out immediately.

My case is being handled over to public prosecution service(PPS) for advice , however I told them my plans of going to his house after he threatened me , and I'll like to set an unexpected trap for him.

The public prosecution service (PPS) concluded on placing Video identification parade electronic recording ( VIPER) in other to get a strong evidence of the occurrence since it's been a while it has happened. They also advice me on how to get some words from his mouth for stronger evidence to be used against me.
If all our planned Traps is successful , My case will be referred to the women's and human right organisations to work on it and also help me out.

I rounded all the report processed around 4:30pm , I already ordered a Uber driver to pick me up at the police station ,so I can get home ,rest and prepare for my date with Sam by 7pm.
I still have some time to rest though , I've had a long day and it seems like time flies.

I reached my apartment safely ,bid the Uber driver goodbye and transferred my bill to his account .
After settling in my house , I pulled of my shoe locked the door and change to some comfy clothes , before lying on my bed and dozing off to sleep..This life ,I can't kill myself.
