After a week in Paris, you and your best friend find yourselves on a train to the countryside. You can't hide your excitement as you walk up the stony road to Chateau de Pierrefonds! The fairytale castle stands on a hill like it's growing out of the ground and the afternoon sunlight reflects in its windows.

"Wait! I have to take a photo!"

A dozen photos, to say the least. Your bestie is patient, but after about 20 minutes she/he has had enough of posing for one day...

"Let's see the rest of the place." Y/b/f says and you gladly shuffle on.

There isn't a cloud in the sky and several people are dressed in medieval costumes, to your absolute delight! There's also an open market leading all the way to the courtyard entrance.

"Look, those men are dressed as guards!" you exclaim and point at a bunch of men wearing chain mails. "And that's..."

Your gaze freezes on a tall man with red hair and a long cloak with a dragon symbol on the side. The crest of Pendragon.

"Sir Leon?"

"Who?" your bestie wonders

"Who?" your bestie wonders.

You try to gather your thoughts. Are they filming another season of Merlin?

"Ladies."

Sir Leon smiles politely before he makes his way towards the inner courtyard.

"Let's follow him!" you exclaim, more to yourself than to your companion. Besides, your bestie is busy with his/her Snapchat and doesn't notice when you start hurrying after the knight.

Adrenaline is flowing through your body as you swish forward. Your whole face is smiling. A warmth has spread inside your chest. As if every step takes you closer to a goal line you've always wanted to reach.

The castle opens up before you, even whiter and more breathtaking in reality. Your heels clap when you walk up the stone staircase. Inside, you're greeted by brown walls and cold floors. Sir Leon has disappeared.

Oh fudge. I suppose I can check out these corridors until I find someone else...

Soon you find yourself in a cooking area. It smells of roasted chicken and newly-baked loaf bread. The staff are dressed in costumes, them too.

"Is this an historically inspired café?" You turn to a large woman who looks like she's in charge. "I'd like two coffees to-go, please."

"We're not gonna have nothin' til the King's had his lunch!" the woman shouts out of distress. "Who are you, anyway?"

"My name's..."

"Are you the new cook? Cause if you are, it's about time to show up! We were expecting you this morning!"

"Sorry, I'm just on my way to..." you try to explain, actually admiring this woman's sense of roleplaying.

Your amused gaze is met by her stern eye.
