The school bell rang, as students raced out of their class doors trying to see friends before their next hours started. As Los Feliz High School bustled with conversation, a short girl with a maroon baseball cap made her way down the hallway, towards her locker.
"Hey, underachiever." A voice said, just as the girls locker opened. "Hey, disappointment." Julie says back to her best friend Flynn. "Ok, I know you don't want me to ask, but have you figured out what you're gonna do today?" Shaking her head, "I'll know in the moment."
Fed up with the response Flynn backlashed, "Really, Jules? That's all you're giving me? Mrs. Harrison said this is your last chance." Before Julie could get a word out a familiar voice was heard. "She knows, we all were there." Julies older sister stated, as she joined the duo.
"Hey, loudmouth." Flynn said to her other best friend. "Can you try and convince your sister to perform today, that way she doesn't break the trio up."
Nodding her head she looked at Julie, "That is why I held off on doing my performance, that way Julie can still do her audition, but feel comfortable in doing so." Chris responded, as she through her arm over Julies shoulder and smiling at her best friend. As the three of them stood there, they over heard an obnoxious overly peppy voice. "See you at the rally!"
Letting out a groan Flynn looked back at the sisters, "Ugh! What is she handing out?" Giving each other a side eye view, both responded at the same time. "Desperation?" "More popularity?" After saying that the girl, who use to be one of their friends and more, walked towards them smugly. Whipping out flyers from the large stack, she handed all three of them one. "Here you go. My group's performing at the spirit rally tomorrow. I'm sure you guys have nothing better to do." The last part more directed to the older sibling than the other two, who just glared back.
Being sarcastic, Flynn responded. "Oh my gosh, Carrie. Thanks!"
"Oh my gosh, Flynn. Don't bother coming!" Carrie responded, and not enjoying the comeback directed to her friend, Chris walked over to her. "Oh my gosh, Care, Why don't you go back to the doctor and having him fix that nose of yours. Thirds time a charm, right?" Not enjoying the clap back, Carrie swiftly left, leaving behind a somewhat smug girl and laughing friends.
When looking up, Julie caught a glance of her crush who was standing against the pillar looking at his phone. Seeing this, Chris looked at Flynn with an eye roll. "Nick? Still? You know they're gonna get married and have a bunch of unholy babies." Flynn said directing towards Nick and Carrie's relationship. "Nick's a sweetheart." Julie responded back to her friend with a puppy love smile.
