People were playing volleyball and enjoying the nice day, not noticing the three ghost who were standing there and staring at two buildings.
"A bike shack right where my house used to be." Reggie stated, not really knowing how to feel at the moment. "Right here."
"Yeah, I'm sorry, man." Luke said while slapping his friends chest hoping that could count as sympathy, yet that went down the drain as Reggie continued. "They made the Meyersons' house into a noodle shop. Why couldn't they have made mine a pizzeria or something?"
"They tore down the whole neighborhood." Alex gestured showing that a lot more has happened while they've been gone. "I guess my folks are gone." Reggie stated.
"No. Everyone's gone." Alex muttered, only to receive a look from Reggie. "Twenty-five years, gone. Friends, family, Bobby, everyone."
"Bobby, that's right. I guess that vegetarian lucked out. What do you think happened to him?" Reggie questioned looking at Alex, after being reminded about the boy.
Luke just shrugged, "He probably just got old like everybody else and moved on." Giving up on the sad moment and just wanting to find something else to talk about. Alex turned towards Luke. "Dude, how are you so casual about all of this? Don't you wanna figure out what happened?"
Luke just rolled his eyes, as he faced his two band mates. "Let's be real for a second. It's not like we were that close to our families. My folks always regretted buying me that guitar." Luke than pointed towards the bass player. "Reggie, your parents were literally a fight away from a divorce." He then turned to his drummer and looked at him sadly. "Alex, I... Your parents were never cool again after you told them you were gay or when they caught us kissing each other on the front porch after one of our dates." After saying that, he turned his head towards the sky. "How about Reese, huh? I think she had it worse than us sometimes."
"Ok." Alex said, gaining Lukes attention. "None of us had it great. All right? But at least we had something, you know, what do we have now?" Before Luke or Reggie could say anything, Alex held his hand up. "And before you say cool teleportation skills, just know I'm not entirely ok with that either, all right? It tingles, in weird places." Alex finished as he gestured to his body making everyone slightly uncomfortable.
"I'll tell you what we had. It's what we've had since the day we came together. Boys, we have us, we're the only family we're ever gonna need, and once we can get Reese to trust us again, we can be complete. You know what else we have?"
