I sat curled up in the corner of a holding cell deep underground. There was no natural light, wind or ambient noises. It felt so much like one of dad's hideouts, but I'm not with dad anymore and that's what has been terrifying me. The shinobi of the Hidden Leaf had brought me back to their village and interrogated me to no avail. I couldn't answer any of their questions so they resorted to torture by using Jutsus that let them enter my mind. But in the end even that didn't bore them no fruit and they guided me back to my cell as they gained nothing from me. I had completely closed myself off after being without the commands from dad. He was the only authority I had ever known my whole life. If he wasn't there, I didn't know what I was allowed to do.

(Should I escape? Where should I go? If I wait here will dad find me? Does he know where I am? Is he looking for me? Am I going to die? Is it ok for me to sleep? I hope Yang is ok.)

I kept repeating these questions and more endlessly in my mind with every passing minute. I began planning out what I might need to do if things stayed this way, from escape plans which led me to start studying the guards. I analyzed even the simplest things to help determine what might happen next like if someone would hurt me if I decided to sleep on the hard bed they had given me.

Knowing no one around would answer me, I just curled even tighter to the corner of the cell, pulling my legs closer to my chest.

Kakashi: Hello there. I'm Kakashi Hatake. You remember me right?

I looked up from my arms and saw the same shinobi who had captured me, leaning on the iron bars and waving to me as he introduced himself. I nodded slightly.

Kakashi: That's good.

I could tell he was smiling under his mask, even his voice sounded sincerely happy.

Kakashi: I see you still haven't eaten anything. I can't say the food they serve here is the best, but starving yourself isn't good for your health.

I looked over to the stack of trays that had flies buzzing over it. The guards kept putting them in every couple of hours, but I never touched any of it. Dad only ever fed me with nutritional injections and Food Pills so I'm not entirely sure how to even eat the things that have been brought to me. Rarely did dad ever give me something I could actually bite into and with real flavor.

Kakashi: I want you to come upstairs with me. We have an offer for you, if you accept you'll be free to walk around outside and won't be interrogated anymore.

As he spoke a guard came over and opened the door to the cell.

Making my own actions without dad's approval still scared me, but staying in the cold dark cell isn't getting me anywhere so for the time being I'll simply do what feels right to me and brings the most beneficial results.

I followed Kakashi up the stairs with a few of the guards following close behind. I flinch at the bright light from all the windows along the hallways, it's been a while since I saw any light that wasn't from a lamp. I held the long sleeve of my black haori next to my eyes to protect them as they slowly adjusted.

After walking through the circling hallway, Kakashi stopped when he reached a door.

Kakashi: All right, here we are. You can go on inside, (Y/n).

He instructed as he held the door open for me and dismissed the guards to go back.

Inside there was a purple haired woman and an old man wearing a white robe and a hat with a white veil covering the sides of his face.

Sarutobi: Hello young man. I am Sarutobi Hiruzen, the third Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village. And this is one of our elite shinobi, Anko Mitarashi. She wanted to meet you as well.
