CHAPTER FOUR

"Neo!... neo!" The blurred picture of my mum spoke to me, shaking my body.

"Yeah?" I asked in a very sleepy voice

"Wake up, let's go" She tapped me again

"To where?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"We're going back to school shopping," She said 

"But why this early?" I asked.

"I have places to be later today get up" She tapped me again before leaving my room

I walked into the shower and got changed into a purple shirt that said Champion and blue jeans

I rushed down the stairs and made 2 sandwiches for myself and gobbled it down.

"Come on let's go" My mum said leaving the house with me behind her.

We drove to Target first where I got all my stationeries and some other stuff that we needed then we moved onto H&M to restock my closet. Once we were done we got back home and some minutes later my mum left the house.

"Hey gurl!" Daphne said once I opened the door for her

"Ugh! I'm hungry as fuck" She groaned collapsing on the couch in the lounge

"Popeyes sound good?" I asked looking into my purse

"Yeah, I'll like a chicken sandwich" She said pulling out some dollar notes from her pocket "Deliah gave me 2oo dollars not to tell my mum she went out last night"

"2oo dollars!" I yelled in disbelief

"Yeah, it's that serious. I don't know but she 's really pushing my mum's buttons and I just want to be in the corner of the room when she eventually does" She said

"Im sorry" I said

"Don't be as long as I get bank, I'm good" She said

"Come on let's go!" She squealed and left the house

"Hold on!" I yelled "How're we gonna get there?"

"Never heard of the bus?" She said

"The bus?" I snickered

"Bitch I'm hungry, come on" She grabbed my hand to the bus station

We got to Popeyes, ate our lunch and took the bus home.

"No! He was talking about you" Daphne said referring to a man that was talking towards us but because he was behind a glass we couldn't hear him

I noticed the Fernsby brothers around the corner and I bent my head down, I don't think Daphne noticed.

"Anyways, I wish I got a chicken sandwich to go" Daphne rubbed her stomach

"Daphne!" Teeqo yelled and Daphne turned back and I looked down in fear

"Hey!" Daphne yelled back and dragged my hand to where there were

"Hey Teeqo" She beamed

"Hey, who's this?, I'm Teeqo" He said "And that's my twin brother Jarvis"

Jarvis waved. We were in front of a red building with brick walls, it looked empty and Jarvis was on the stairs

"I'm Neolani" I said

"Neolani? I know a Neolani, or should I say I knew one" He said

"Well you're looking at her" I said and he gave me a confused look "I'm Neolani Bennett, we were all friends with Kiaria Sanchez until she died"

"What?" He said

"Yeah it's hard to believe but it's me Neolani Bennett" I said again and he had a shocked face

"Yup, meet my cousin" Daphne said

"I knew I knew you from somewhere" He said "Wait, Bennett and Scott? How?"

"Our mums are sisters" We said at the same time

"You look really different" Jarvis finally said

"Yeah it's something called growth" Daphne said and Jarvis stuck his middle finger up

"I'm sure you guys have a lot to catch up on, and I have a lot to catch up on with your toasters, so let's just head over to the Fernsby house" Daphne smiled

"That seems okay" Teeqo said

"Okay" I said

"Oh, I'm sorry Neolani" Teeqo said, I just finished talking about my father's death. We were in the Fernsby family sitting room.

"Please call me Lani, and it's okay, I'm over it" I lied I was actually crying inside

"Teeqo, the toaster's acting up" Daphne called from the kitchen

"You better not break anything" Teeqo said before leaving to the kitchen, leaving me and Jarvis.

"Hey Jarvis, you've been awfully quiet" I said

"Yeah" He said bluntly "So when your dad died, did you cry?"

Okay what an odd question

"Yeah I did, for weeks actually but I got over it"  I said

"Cool" He said again and that was the end of the conversation

We stayed for some more hours before I was able to get Daphne to come with me home.

"So see you in school tomorrow?" Teeqo said

"Yeah probably" I said before we left.

We walked a bit farther from their house before I began "Teeqo is way nicer than before"

"That's because you're a hot chick, if you weren't we wouldn't have left that red building" Daphne said taking a sip of the Kool Aid she got from there "What about Jarvis, now he's the real gentlemen"

"He's rather more quite" I said and reached for my phone which was buzzing

"Hello?"
"Hello! Neo where are you!" My mum yelled from the other end of the phone

"I went to Daphne's I'll be home now" I said

"You better be!" She yelled before ending the call

"Who was that" Daphne asked

"My mum, she's really mad, bye" I said before running home

"Neo! Where have you been!" My mum yelled

"I just went out that's all" I said

"I just went out" She mimicked me "I come home expecting to see you ! And I don't ever remember  giving you permission to go out!"

"I'm sorry mum" I said with my head down

"Go to your room!" She ordered and I obliged

I don't know why my mum's acting like this, she's never been like this. Something's up.

"Listen to me Carlos, I don't have money for that now!" I heard her yell and I dashed downstairs

"Mum?" I asked concerned, my mum looked stressed and it killed me that I didn't know why

"Didn't I just tell you to go to your room!" She yelled and I went back upstairs

"I also have a lawyer!" I heard her again and I slid down my closed door and began crying

I'm so sorry but Unravel Them All would be on hold for the next MONTHS yes you read that right. School is beginning and I would most definetky not have time to upload.
