The police and ambulance left, leaving a hollow and quiet home for the two girls. Zachery didn't know what to say or do, other than invite the both of them to the hotel he was staying at. Blaire accepted, only because she couldn't face the thought of staying in the house where she had lost her mother.
"Do you need me to carry anything?" Zachery was ever the perfect gentleman, helping the dark haired girl with anything and everything from taking things out to the car, to sitting with her on a couch as she hugged herself in silence.
"Could you just get our bag? I have Jayla." The sleeping girl had latched onto Blaire at some point when she had moved couches, and hadn't let go since.
The two teens moved to the vehicle waiting, and put Jayla and the bag in.
"Is there anything else you need? We can come back tomorrow or whenever and get the rest if your things." She just nodded and sat down in the car. He sighed, and got in as well.

A scream had Blaire flying out of the temporary bed and towards the living room of the spacious hotel room. Jayla thrashed and continued to scream. Blaire hated these nights where her younger sister was trapped by her insomnia pills and night mares; it just caused stress and a sleepless night.
Zachery came sprinting from his room just as she reached the sleeping nine year old. She picked her up and whispered comfort to Jayla.
"Zach, get a cold wash cloth?" Even in the terror of that day and now, he was amazed by her calmness. Or at least that's what he thought it was. For all he knew, it could be because she was still in shock.
He returned and pressed it to the youngest girl's forehead. Once Blaire had finally calmed her down some, she yawned.
"Blaire, you need to sleep. Give her to me, I'll stay with he-" He was quickly cut off.
"No! No, it's ok, I'll sleep here with her. She... She's not used to any one else around tons but me..." Her hesitant answer worried him, but he nodded to agree.
"Ok. If you think it's the best." She mumbled her thanks and gently rolled Jayla over so she could lay down next to her. "Good night."
"Night Zachery."
He left the room, but stayed just around the corner. He wanted to make sure she was alright. Well, enough to be able to sleep.
"Blaire?" Zachery's eyes widened when he heard Jayla talking.
"Hmm?"
"What are we gonna do now?" The little girl had so much fear in her voice, and he frowned.
Blaire sighed. "I don't know Flower. I think we'll stay with a friend. I just have to figure out who."
The silence made him think they had finally fallen asleep, but he was mistaken.
"What about Drew? Or Lila? We could stay with one of them, right?" Blaire's silence was answer enough for Zachery.
"No, Jay, we can't. Lila isn't very happy with me right now, and Drew's apartment is too small for us. But we'll figure it out. I promise."
"Pinky promise?" Zachery smiled.
"Ya," Blaire replied. "Pinky promise."
Finally the house was silent, and Zachery went back into the living room. He sat on a sofa, and got comfortable.
Keeping his eye on the two people sleeping in front of him, he fell asleep.

Hi! I'm back with this one, and I'm so happy!
I'd like to say a huge thank you to MmefreakingStyles because she commented basically every chapter and just gave me that encouragement I guess I needed. So please give me feed back. Even just a simple "like it!" Or something is plenty. Just anything to give this girl a bit of friendly reader love?
So I'm sorry it's a bit fillerish, but I hope you all like it. I will hope to update this once a week, usually on Tuesdays and I'll update my one-shot book on Wednesday evenings or Thursday mornings (my time).
So please comment and vote. It really does make a difference to how much I will write and post.
Love you all!!
