Soon the Christmas holiday is over, and we are back at Hogwarts.
I hate lying to my friends and keeping secrets. But I can do it when I have to. And right now, I have to.
Every night Draco and I go to the room of retirement to work on the cabinet. Draco tried to find ways to kill Dumbledore that weren't direct, but they all backfired.
Soon it was the night Draco and I dreaded most of all. The cabinet was working, and we were heading to the room of requirement, to let the death eaters in. One of them is Bellatrix, she has always been nice to me, even though I've never really liked her. But when she came through she was the happiest I've ever seen her.
We make our way to the astronomy tower, the other death eaters are slowed down by the Order of the Pheonix. Draco and I enter the astronomy tower, to see Dumbledore at the top waiting for us.
Draco disarms him, and they talk. He turns to me.
"Y/N. I never would have thought you'd be caught up in this."
"I'm so sorry professor. I never wanted this to happen. We have no choice." I say crying.
"But you do have a choice my dear." He says to me. I look away.
"I have to do this." Draco says pointing his wand at Dumbledore, with tears in his eyes. "Or he'll kill me."
"I understand my boy." Dumbledore says.
We hear a loud crash and footsteps coming up the stairs. Bellatrix is who I see first.
"Well look who we have here. Good job Draco. You too Y/N." She comes over to Draco and I. "Do it Draco." She says in his ear. He slightly turns to look at her when another set of feet come up the stairs.
It's Snape. He...he points is wand at Dumbledore.
"Severus." Dumbledore says, almost begging.
Before I can realize what is happening, snapt kills him. He falls from the tower and Bellatrix casts the dark mark into the air. We leave the tower and I am crying so hard I can barely see, but I think I saw Harry under where we were. But we are soon outside, passing by Hagrids shack that is now on fire.
I'm holding onto Draco's hand for dear life as we run and eventually apparate away from Hogwarts. We land in his bed and I fall crying in Draco's arms.
"You..you didn't kill him!" I say relieved. "He didn't make you a murderer. You...you didn't have to do it." I say almost happily. I am still upset that Dumbledore had to die.
I look up at Draco for what feels like the first time and pull him into a kiss.
"I love you." I say with no hesitation.
"I love you too." He says, searching my eyes for something. But soon we are kissing again. It feels like we are the only two on this earth.
"Promise me. Promise you won't leave me. Ever." Draco says after he pulls away.
I cup his face in my hands. "I promise you forever. I promise to be by your side forever." He moves his ring from my right ring finger, to my left. "What are.."
"This is our promise. That we will make it out of this. We will he together, and live the rest of our lives together. No matter what." He says kissing my ring.
I pull him into a kiss yet again. But we are cut short when we hear a knock on the door.
"Master Draco. Your father asks for you and Y/N to go to his study immediately." Draco's house elf says.
"Understood." Draco says shortly and gets up. He wipes his eyes and mine, holds my hand and we leave.
We enter the study and are met with both of Draco's parents and mine.
"It will be some time before Hogwarts will open again, so you both will be staying here. Where we know you will be protected." My father says.
"But what about you?" I ask.
"We have lives and jobs that must continue as if nothing happened." My mother says. "Narcissa and Lucius will take care of you, we will visit whenever we can."
"Your bags were delivered this afternoon." Narcissa says.
I start to cry and hug my parents. They soon leave and I am left in the manor, with only the malfoy's. But not for long.
