Depression is like
A terrible therapy session
The same problems come up
Every time you go
You get a wake-up call
Like your life means something at all
Even though (according to everyone else)
You've been living like a ghost
Treating yourself with the utmost disrespect
Isolating and having meltdowns
All the time
It's time you saw a sign
That says, "you're okay"
Even when you feel like that statement is false
You need to know
Someone is out there
Waiting for you to talk
Just knock on the door and step on in
It's not like you committed a terrible sin
Just find a friend who shows empathy
