Princess Pier Idae was soon to be queen as she was almost eighteen. It came so close to her not being queen as she was born two minutes before her twin brother. Two minutes away from freedom. Of course, she had grown to both love and hate the aspects of being queen.

Fortunately for her father and the Kingdom of Lepidoptera, at age fourteen she decided that she would be a powerful, but kind queen. A leader that would listen to her subjects but also stand up for her kingdom instead of looking for an easy way out of a tough situation. She also decided that she would learn how to fight and for almost four years she has been training with the knights of the kingdom.

While walking down from her room to the training grounds for her lesson of the day she started to think about her coronation, which was coming up in just a couple of weeks she began to smile happily. Just then she felt the ground shake beneath her, she saw the dust fall from old portraits of past rulers, long dead.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the top of a tower fall and crash into the common grounds. The panic inside of Pier started to rise. She started to wonder where her family was, her dad King Atlas who was her only parent left after her mother Queen Luna died six years ago while giving birth to the twins Skipper, and Theo, but they were in the basement Pier knew that because they had schooling lessons every day there. It was her twin brother Marshie and other two siblings Pepper who is fourteen and Heath who is twelve.

Pier sprinted off as fast as she could towards her father's study hoping to find him there. Before she could do that though, had was to check up on her lady-in-waiting and closest friend since Pier could remember, Meadow. Pier was on her way to the servants passageway when another tremor caused Pier to lose her balance and send her falling to the ground and even rolling her over to the opposite side of the passageway. Quickly regaining her balance Pier ran to the nearest window to call out for her loved one's names hoping she could get a response before the next wave of tremors hit. Unfortunately, Pier didn't realize that the waves of tremors were speeding up. She heard her name being called by a familiar voice, along with the rest of a muffled sentence but Pier wasn't lucky enough to catch.
