After crossing the fence, my Uncle Reid stuck his hand inside a tree stump grabbing a non familiar weapon. I backed up in fear. He pulled a bow. "Katniss, do you know what this is?" He asks me showing me the bow. I nod with a reply, "Where's it's arrows at?". He looks at me smiling walking towards a hole that's in a tree. He pulls out a quirrel full of arrows. "Do you know how to use this?" He asks me. I shake my head side to side. "Good weapons aren't good for kids like you, I will teach you how to use one." He tells me sitting down on a knocked down tree stump. I sit next to him. He's polishing the bow and arrows while I look at the sky and wander what's my gift. My uncle started to sing a song that I was not familiar with," Are you are you coming to the tree, where I told you to run so we'd both be free strange things did happen here no stranger would it be if we met up at midnight in the hanging tree." His song ended. "What's that song about?" I ask him watching him still polishing. "Katniss, here's a story that I've been past through generations hearing, The Capital dislike songs like this cause they show an act of hope and freedom, you can't sing these songs around the capital, but this place is over the fence so there's more..." He says making me finish his sentence. "Freedom?" I ask not knowing what it was. "Exactly, now long ago The Capital had secret messengers all around the districts they were called Jabberjays because anything you said would repeat back to The Capital giving them messages they heard you say, the Jabberjays plan didn't work so they set them free hoping that they would die out in the wilderness, but instead they mated with the Mockingbirds who only whistled tunes, the mating created a new bird called the MockingJay, they only reply with a tune but keep whistling the tune all around the MockingJay shows hope as well as the songs." He replies getting up to stand. He starts to whistle a tune (doo-doo-doo-doo---) I hear the same melody in the background. "Can I come here every day?" I ask wanting to learn more of that song. "Every Tuesday meet me at the fence 4:00am in the morning, okay?" He asks me before leading me into the fence. "Okay." I reply walking back home.
