He recalled that he hadn't felt this numb in a while, although the room tainted him with what felt like frostbite and he was shaking visibly, it wasn't from the temperature. In fact, it was from the footsteps he heard from the other side of the locked steel door. The padlock turned, the heavy 'thunk' and turning of gears made his heart drop from his chest to the floor, and his own fate, his former leader, stared him down with a sick grin."Hey there."
Dabi had no response but a choked back whimper, not meeting Shigaraki's deep burning glare.
"Doesn't help your situation if you don't cooperate here, princess."
"Don't call me that." Dabi attempted a stern tone, but it came out as a soft plea and Shigaraki laughed at him for it.
"Poor baby." He crooned tauntingly, sauntering in and closing the barrier behind him. Dabi tried to scramble back but the chain on the collar around his neck stopped him from going far. It didn't help when Shigaraki grasped the links and wretched him back, howling with humor as he fell face first in front of him, gasping at the impact as his forehead bounced off the concrete.
"Look at me, princess." Shigaraki's voice was playful but there was a dangerous edge to it, as he used the toe of his boot to lift Dabi's chin from the cold floor.
"This could be easier if you'd let it be, sweetie." He chided, humming when Dabi's lower jaw trembled.
"Oh no, no no, don't cry again." He tsked, reaching down to stroke the staples connecting the burnt skin to the healthy.
"It's alright, just behave. They all miss you and you're so cute." He cooed, almost cruelly, unlocking the chain from the post in the middle of this hellish room to wrap it around his wrist and arm, tugging Dabi up.
That monster had kept Dabi in nothing but snug black briefs that barley covered anything, his chest and piercings exposed to everyone. He also wore ridiculously fitted and secured black cat ears with a matching tail, the leather locking collar he wore adorned with a golden bell to compliment his body jewelry.
He snatched Shigaraki's wrist in his shaky hands, eyes glistening with unshed tears as he begged quietly, "Please don't show me like this."
And that feral fucking grin came back. Dabi recoiled in terror when the red eyes leaned down and the hot breath ghosted his face.
"You were the one who hurt me first, princess." He reminded, chuckling maliciously and biting the scar on his lip.
"I'm sorry -"
"You weren't truthful with me. ME, out of all people! Weren't we something? More than what the others are?" He hissed, becoming visibly agitated, "I told you I love you. Told you everything about me you fucking liar."
How loud the echo of the slap to Dabi's face stunned him, really. He just stared at the spot on the floor where he head snapped to and drew a labored breath, waiting for another. Or worse.
But nothing came except his tears as he sobbed pitifully, trying to hold it back with little success. Shigaraki seemed content to watch him cry for a while, black smudging his face. He could cry, contrary to what he told Hawks, but it wasn't normal. He wasn't normal and neither was the black that seeped from where his tears would as he cried.
"Hey."
He tried to catch his breath, turning to look cautiously at his captor, hiccuping and trembling violently. He saw a flash of Enji standing over him in Shigaraki's place and he was petrified, even his breathing almost inaudible.
"Come on." And Shigaraki reached out his hand, his tone and stance more affectionate now. There was no longer the danger of Shigaraki's quirk being an uncontrollable side effect of touching, he had conquered that when gifted All For One, but Dabi knew what those hands were capable of.
