A loud crack of thunder made me jump from the bed holding my chest. It was still pretty dark out so I knew nobody was awake. Glancing over at my clock I saw it was 3:30 AM. Great, just great. Crawling from the bed I decided to head downstairs and grab me something to drink. The loud thunder practically shook the house and with the house full of windows no lights were needed because of the constant lightening. As I made my into the kitchen I saw there was a vase filled with red roses.

'Awwe how sweet. Mr. Evans got his wife some flowers.' I thought as I grabbed a water from the fridge. Not thinking anything of it I headed back upstairs and fell back asleep. When the alarm went off everyone was downstairs shouting. I looked all around the room for Misty until she came running back into the bedroom.

"My father found some flowers on the kitchen table this morning. Do you know anything about them?" She placed her hands on her hips and raised her eyebrows.

Rolling my eyes I started pulling my hair into a ponytail. "I saw them last night when I got my water at 3:30, but I just thought Mr. Evans bought them for your mother."

Misty plopped down onto the bed and sighed "My dad thinks somebody got into the house last night and left them there. No note, nothing. Just the roses."

I laughed at what she just said making her glare at me "Misty your house has top security. He is the mayor of this town. Who would have snuck in here to just leave some stupid roses?"

"I don't know, but he seems to think someone did. Either way we have to be careful today when we get our dresses from the mall."

All I did was nod my head. We always have some type of security because of his job. You're probably wondering why do I have to have the security if I'm not his daughter. Well that is simple. My mother is his assistant. She makes sure all the paperwork and the important documents are secure and safe.

"Drake and Colton will be by in thirty minutes to pick us up. I'll be downstairs waiting for you." Misty then left the room leaving me by myself.

Thirty minutes later.

We finally arrived at the mall which I was so thankful for. The entire ride here was so awkward and quiet. Nobody dared to say one word.

"We will be waiting here for you two. Hurry up and get back out her." Colton directed that towards me totally blowing Misty off.

I gave him a simple nod and we headed into the mall. "Jesus what is with the tension between you and Colton?"

Misty shook her head "doens't matter. Lets just get our dresses and go before they send a search party in for us."

The line to the counter was so long and I knew we would be here for at least twenty minutes. Deciding it to best I sent Drake a text saying it would probably be a bit until we got our dresses. He responded with a thumbs up emoji. About ten minutes later we finaly made it to the front.

"Oh it's you two! I have your dresses right here." The lady we tried to talk to yesterday handed us our dresses and as we tried to leave she stopped us. "That's not all. Here I was told to give these two roses to you."

Misty snatched the roses and glared at the lady "who left these for us?"

The lady behind the counter stepped back "I honestly don't know. My boss told me this morning when I got into work."

I watched as Misty snatched the scissors off the counter and snipped them into pieces. "Thank you for the lovely dresses, but we don't want the roses. Tell you boss to tell the person who left them to leave us alone."

The lady nodded and we headed out to the car where we left the boys. "Who doesn't have the balls to give us the flowers themselves." Misty shouted as she crawled into the car.

"What flowers?" Drake questioned as he sped off back to my house.

I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Some guy left two roses for us at the counter in the store. It's nothing."

Draked nodded his head and the rest of the ride was silent. Once we got to my house Drake was just going to drop us off then leave, but my mother had other plans.

She came running out the front door wearing a supe fancy dress and her hair was in some rollers "Oh goody you are here just in time. You guys will be staying at Misty's house tonight. Drake, Colton would you mind staying with them tonight?" Before either one of the boys could answer she shouted "Great thank you so much. We will be back tomorrow morning. We have some stuff to take care of."

Misty rolled her eyes and put her dress in the car. "This is going to be a long night."

The ride to her house was short, but with the awkward silence it made time drag. "Okay guys we are going to be together in the house the rest of the day and all night. We are going to have to talk to each other eventually. Lets just end this awkward moment we are having. Please."

Drake looked at me in the rear view mirror and smiled "I agree with Amber." Colton of course kind of glared at him but agreed.

Later that night.

I was standing in the kitchen by myself eating a slice of pizza and drinking some soda when Drake came walking into the kitchen "So umm are either one of you two going to explain why your mother demanded we stay the night?"

Holding up a finger silently telling him to hold on a second. "Mr. Evans thinks someone snuck into the house last night and left a vase of roses."

Drakes eyebrows scrunched together "do you mean like the ones that was left on your front porch?" All I did was nod my head making him sigh. "Well don't worry I will make sure nothing happens to you two tonight."

Just as he says this Misty screamed so loud I had to cover my ears. "AMBER" She then came running into the kitchen holding her phone out. "Look at what some creep just messaged me."

Taking the phone from her shakey hands I pulled down my glasses and read the text out loud.

'The roses were a gift you ungrateful bitch. I have no idea why my father adores you women. I will see you very soon. Good luck sleeping tonight.'
