I awoke to find Emma still in bed next to me, fast asleep. She slept right through bless her. In the night she must have wrapped her arm around me tight, as there is no way I could move without waking her. Her body was extremely comforting. I could feel her stomach move every time she breathed and her warm, soft body fitted perfectly into mine. Her face was buried deep into my neck, her subtle breaths ran down my back causing my heart to melt inside.

I didn't want to wake her just yet. I quite enjoyed the feeling of her arms around my waist, her body against mine, her sweet smell surrounding me. I just laid still and embraced this momentary peacefulness, which would surely be interrupted when Emma woke.

The clock ticked and my hamster rattled around in its cage. I forgot to feed it last night, I'll just feed it double today, It'll be fine. I hope. Her golden fur clung to her skin, it wasn't its usual soft, fluffy self but instead it was heavy with grease. She was busy climbing upside down on the top of cage, looking like Spider-Man. All four paws tightly clung onto the metal bars.

One foot released as she tried to step forward. Then the other one. Then she fell. My eyes widened as she hit the metal of the cage and fell through into the other compartment. The straw softened her fall but it was too late. Emma's head shot up, "What was that?"

"Pepper... My hamster." I answered.

"Oh, yeah. Course." She removed her hand slowly from my waist, as if she hoped I didn't notice that it was clung around me.

I turned to face her, "So, you fell asleep. How you going to explain this one to Mark?" Once again putting my childish tone on his name.

"Oh I don't know. I'll figure it out." She snapped.

"Not much of a morning person are you." I said as I moved off the bed. Emma sat up and leaned against the wall. Her hair was sticking out in most places and she had slight panda eyes. I picked up my face wipes and handed one to her. "Here you go."

"Thanks, got a brush?" She said with a smirk on that beautiful face of hers. She wiped her eyes as I handed her my brush before I left the room.

Opening the door, I quietly closed it behind me. Walking down the hall I saw that my mum was in the bathroom. "Mum? What you doing?"

"What do you think I'm doing?" She said sarcastically. "I am in the bathroom, but don't worry I'm coming out now." The door opened.

"You at work today?" Hoping she'd say yes. That way explaining why my teacher is in my room would be a whole lot easier to do.

"Yeah I'm leaving now, be good. I'll be back later though so whoever slept over last night can stay for a bit... Don't look at me like that either, I know someone slept over because you didn't come down last night and you only do that when you have someone over. Anyway. I have to go, love you." She hugged me, walked downstairs and out the door before I even had the chance to say a word.

Walking into the bathroom, I turned on the shower and quickly brushed my teeth before I hopped in. I thought back to what my Mum had said. "Last night?" I whispered to myself. I thought she was working overnight? That doesn't make any sense. Did she come home early?

After 15 minutes, I got out and wrapped myself in a towel. One last glance in the mirror, then walked back towards my room. When I walked in Emma was on the phone, no doubt to whom. "Sorry babe, Ill be home later. Got more work to do. Love you." And ended the call.

She looked at me. I picked up my leopard print dressing gown, turned around, put it on and dropped my towel. As I was tying it up, a pair of sleek arms came from behind me and hugged my waist. She placed her head on my shoulder and we both looked in the mirror and smiled. We were quite a cute couple, if we were a couple I mean.
