"Hello, what is your emergency?" The tinny voice of the police call centre worker asked Sara when she had called.

"It's my daughter..." Sara said, frantically "She was supposed to be in over 5 hours ago, but we haven't seen or heard from her."

"Ok ma'am, I'm going to need your address over and we will send a dispatch over to you to get a statement." The receptionist replied calmly.

"21st street, the large house with a purple door."

"Ma'am, just say calm. A NYPD dispatch has been sent to you. ETA 10 minutes max. Just stay calm."

The line went dead and, out of frustration and anger, thew her phone across the room, it skittering to a stop at the wall, once bouncing of the window, which now had a large crack along the width and length.

Sara removed the red jumper she had been wearing and placed it on the back of the sofa, and started to pace up and down on the cold oak would floorboards in their living room. That's when her husband arrived.

"HELLO!" Stephan, her husband called as soon as he got in from work. Stephan worked for the U.S. Navy, was a commander, but he got honourably discharged after he was awarded a silver cross. Now he is the lead homocide detective at the NYPD. When he got no reply, he hurried to the kitchen, once dropping his coat and bag by the door.he didn't find his wife but he did see his wife in the living room through the door. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her slender waist, Berrying his face in her long, thick, blonde hair. He noticed the tension in her body, and released her, walking round her to look her in the face. He could clearly see that something was wrong. Her face, normally so beautiful and happy, was now dark, angry, depressed and terrified, all at the same time.

"Sara?" He asked, concerned. "What's the matter? What's wrong?"

As soon as he finished his last word, the sound of a wailing police siren screeched through the silent night air and the light from the cop car roof lights flooded through the room. They heard a car door open and close, then a knock on the door.

Stephan slowly walked to the door. Not understanding what's going on.

"Hello?" He asked, opening the door to two police officers. One was tall, about six foot four, and strong, and the other was short, and chubby, with an angry looking face.

"A woman called from this address claiming that her daughters had not returned home yet?" The tall officer said. In that very second all of the colour drained from Stephan's face, his legs giving out a little.

"Excuse me,sir? The tall man asked "do you have a licence of that firearm you are carrying? Or any proof of the weapon being registered to you and is going to be use in a lawful manner?" Stephan dug in his pocket and pulled out his I'.D. and badge.

"How's that for proof?"

Stephan guided the two patrol officers through to the lounge, and Sat next two his wife.

"Ma'am, sir," the tall, thin man started "we're going to have to ask you a few questions, is that ok?"Sara nodded her head, tears running down her face.

"I have one question first, if I may?" The cops nodded. Stephan turned his head to his wife.

"Why didn't you ring me first, Sara?"

"I panicked Steve, I didn't know what to do, ok?" Her voice rising in frustration "Our daughters have gone missing and I panicked. I called the cops. I did the reasonable thing. The LOGICAL thing!" She got up and stared out of the window. "Sorry.... I shouldn't have yelled. It's just..... I'm scared. I assassinate people for the government for a living, I get captured and tortured all the time. It none of that scares me, because I expected that. But this....... Their only 14 and 19 for God sake! Their not even adults!"

"It's ok, just relax, we'll find them, and the assholes who took them will come to justice, one way or another." Stephan whispered in her ear, his hand on her shoulder, comfortingly. She nodded, and returned to the sofa.

"It's ok officers, I'll take it from here. Me and my team at the precinct will investigate the case." Stephan told the men, with a voice of authority, and a fierce look on his face.

"Glad we could help, sir." Stephan showed them to the door.

"Good bye."
