Jemily The untold secret of the BAU

A New Beginning

It's November 2016 and Jenifer Jareau (JJ) is the communications liaison for the Behavioral Analysis Unit in the FBI. JJ has been doing this for about a year and a half and she loves it , she loves her team and she loves saving lives in the ways she can. Lately JJ has been feeling like there is something missing and she can't figure out what it is. She has a great Job a nice apartment that is close to the Quantico  and cute black names Sergio. She has everything she needs , what could be missing?

JJ's Pov : Woke up at 8:am and  stretched then got up and pet and feed Sergio and then started making coffee. Starting the pot then walking away to pick out my outfit for the day. I grabbed  my  black skirt and black blazer and a plain white shirt and laid is down on her bed. Then I made my  coffee and sat down at the table and turned on the news. A half hour later I  finished my coffee and got in the shower and then brushed my teeth and got dressed and headed to  Quantico. I got to Quantico and headed  inside and got settled into my office and starts getting to work ,  going through all the new case files Penelope has placed on my desk to see where we  will travel to today to hunt down a horrible serial killer. I narrowed it down to two places Washington or California. They both really need our help but I can only pick one. I got  lost in trying to pick one when she hears hears a sweet voice say "Excuse me." JJ looked up and saw this beautiful brunette with this sexy black suit on and a box in her hands  and I didn't say anything for a second. Then the woman said "Sorry to bother you but I was knocking and I got no answer and I saw you sitting in here and I'm kind of lost." JJ says "Oh I'm sorry I was just trying to sort through these cases and I must have gotten lost in my thoughts. Who are you looking for ?" The brunette said " I'm looking for Aaron Hotchner's office." JJ  said " Oh okay , I'll show you." and stood up and walked out the door and the brunette followed her with the box in her hand. We were walking together when JJ looked over and said "If you don't mind me asking , what's in the box?" The brunette said "I was told that I'm supposed to start at the BAU today so it's my work things." JJ said "Oh , I didn't hear of any new transfers , that's odd the section chief usually sends the transfers to me and Hotch to approve them." JJ stopped and said "Well here you go ." JJ sticks he hand out and says "It was nice to meet you....." The brunette connected her hand with JJ's shaking it and saying "Emily , Emily Prentiss. It was nice to meet you too..." JJ said "Jenifer Jareau but everyone calls me JJ. " JJ walks away.

Emily's Pov: I watched JJ  walk away and then  I knocked on the door and I heard "Come in " I walk in and say "Hello , you must be Aaron hotchner ?" Hotch said "Yes , what can I do for you." I said "I'm Emily Prentiss , I'm supposed to be starting today at the BAU. " Hotch says " I didn't approve any transfers." I said " I was told my Section Cheif Strauss to be here today because i start today. " Hotch grabs a file off of his desk and stands up and says " She never notified me that she just transfered someone , the BAU is not like any other division , it is for certain individuals. Individuals who have the ability to think and research quickly and the ability to get inside of the unsubs head and catch them before they kill again. I have a case ."Then walked out the door and down the hallway.  I was shocked but I know that I am qualified for the job  and when JJ said she didn't know , I figured he would at least know he's the unit chief. I sat my box down not knowing what to do now. I picked my box and started walking around trying to find someone to talk to , who could help me. When I stumbled upon the door at the far end of the hallway away from everyone  and it said "Garcia " on it.  I knocked on the door and the voice said "Come in" I walked in and said "Excuse me , I was suppose to start here today and Hotch said he didn't approve my transfer but Strauss told me to come here today. I'm not really sure what to do. " Garcia said " Alright let me check and see if there is a transfer in the system real quick. " Spun around and started typing . She quickly spun back around and said "You do have a transfer in here but it is not completed it's pending approval  via unit chief. " I smiled and nodded and said "Of course. What can I do to make hotch want me here?" Garcia said "Prove to him you can do the job. Here is an old case they have been working on for a while when we don't have a pressing case. " She handed me a file and I smiled and said "Thank you .. Garcia is it?" Garcia said "Yes Penelope Garcia and you?" I said "Emily Prentiss." Garcia said "Well good luck Emily , I hope to see you around here soon." I smiled and walked out the door and heading to a empty room and began studying the case and looking at there original profile and something didn't seem like it fit so I dug into that more and hours flew by. I had an idea so I went into Garcia's office and asked if she had found anything and she said she had found a couple of things. I told her that there was something missing and she gave me all of the information she had and we came up with the profile and cross checked the grocery store employees with the neighborhoods near by and we got a match. 

Garcia's Pov: An hour or so fly's by and I have gathered some information on the victims and their families to help with the profile. So I called Hotch and he answered and said "Hotch" I said "I thought you forgot about me , it hurt." Hotch said "What do you have for us Garcia?" I said " All the victims lived in similar middle class neighborhoods. Not a lot of family or friends , they all had good high paying jobs" No of them had any other connections than they went to the same grocery store and all during the evening." Emily said " They all went during the same time every on different days , so it has to mean the unsub works there , so we cross referenced the employees with the neighborhoods near by and we got a match." I said "The address has already been sent to you handhelds." Hotch said " Good job Garcia , Emily I will deal with you when we get back." Then hung up. 

JJ's Pov : Several hours later on the plane back home thinking about how today went and if I could have done anything different to have a better outcome than having to shoot the unsub instead of getting a confession out of them and making sure we gets justice for every one of there victims. Just thinking I could have done more to prevent it. The plane landed and everyone got off and went back inside the BAU and went to the offices and desks to do their paperwork and then head home. Hotch walked in and asked Emily to go to his office.

Emily's Pov: We walked into Hotch's office and he shut the door and said "When we talked this morning I made it very clear that the BAU is not like any other division and it takes a lot more than normal case work to be a profiler." I said "Yes you explained that this morning and if you check my file you can see that I am more than capable of being apart of this team. I help Garcia with the case and you caught the unsub , if I was in the field I could do the same thing." Hotch " You did help Garcia with the case. You can start tomorrow on a trial basis if you don't combine your skills with this team and make it the best it can be you will be transferred to another division. Pick a desk and get comfortable." I said "Understood." Then walked out.

JJ's Pov:  I went in my office and shut the door and set my things down and began the paperwork and then starting to review the other cases that I had this morning to get a head start for tomorrow. I looked at my watch and realized it was getting late and I should go home so I got my stuff together and turned out the light and started heading down the hallway and then down the stairs to say goodnight to Reid and Morgan who were heading out also but when I got down the steps I saw Emily unpacking her stuff so I walked over and said "Hey , I'm glad he approved your transfer." as I smiled . Emily smiled back and said "Me too , now I just have a lot to prove." I said "It shouldn't be hard you seem like your good a reading people." Emily smiled and then licked her lips and said "I wasn't so sure at first but now I am." I said "How is that?" Emily grabbed her bag and smiled and leaned to my ear and said "You will know soon enough," Then looked me in the eyes as she walked away and said "See you tomorrow."
