Harry and Louis break down their tattoos interview, 28 of July 2022.

"Hi, I'm Louis Tomlinson." Louis smiles at the camera.

"And I'm Harry Styles and..."

"Really?" Louis looks at his husband and smirks.

Harry rolls his eyes fondly.
"Fine, I'm Harry Tomlinson and we're here with GQ today to do a special edition about our tattoos."

"It will take a while." Louis laughs.

"That's why it's a special edition." Harry bickers.

"Hey, I'm the sass master from Doncaster!" Louis huffs.

"Guys, you're getting off track." The interviewer says amused.

"Sorry! Ehm, so which one should we start with? I told you we should have made a list Boobear." Harry sighs.

Louis gasps.
"I told you not to call me that in front of the camera!"

"I know, but you're so cute. You're my little Boobear." Harry coos and pinches Louis's cheek.

Louis bats his hand away and flips him the finger and then they both start giggling.

"Ehm, guys?" The interviewer says again.

"Okay, we'll try to keep it together, right love?" Louis says and smiles at Harry.

They get lost in each other's eyes for a moment.
"Right." Harry says slowly before he turns to face the camera again.

"So Louis hated tattoos at first." He grins.

Louis bursts out laughing.
"True. Everyone who knows me knew how against it I was back then."

"And then he met me." Harry grins.

"Full of yourself Styles?" Louis cackles.

"Tomlinson." Harry corrects him with a wink.

"That's right baby." Louis smirks.

Harry turns to face the camera.
"Okay, let's talk tattoos. I got my first tattoo on my eighteenth birthday, this star here." Harry says and points at a star on the inside of his left arm. "Ehm, it just symbolizes me and us as a band and how we were famous overnight. Or that we were reaching for the stars together."

"Corny." Louis smirks.

"I was eighteen. What did you expect." Harry chuckles.

They smile at each other before Harry continues.
"I made the next one a couple of months later. It's this line right here beside the star. It's actually from a song by Temper Trap called Sweet disposition."

"Stay there
'Cause I'll be coming over
And while our blood's still young
It's so young, it runs
And won't stop 'til it's over
Won't stop to surrender." Louis sings softly.

"You know it!" Harry grins.

"Of course I know it, sweetie. You played it non-stop back then." Louis chuckles.

"Oh, I forgot about that." Harry giggles.

"My baby is getting old. How's that memory Haz?" Louis smirks.

"Hey! I'm not old Lou! You're older than me!" Harry pouts.

Louis wiggles his eyebrows.
"Yep."

"Now I forgot what I was talking about." Harry whines.

"Grampa." Louis says while he tries to cover it with a cough.

Harry lets out a loud cackle.
"Seriously Lou, stop it!"

"Fine. You got a line from that song tattooed but you altered it." Louis says, trying to be helpful.

"Yeah, mine says 'won't stop 'till we surrender...' and it actually has a deeper meaning. It's basically about me and Lou and the struggle we had to go through against something or someone really." Harry says and looks down at his hands.

Louis puts a hand on his neck and plays with his hair. When Harry looks at him he whispers "I love you" and they both smile.
"You know we can talk about it now." Louis encourages.

"Yeah, I'm not used to it yet." Harry answers.

"So, as everybody probably knows by now our old record label and management wouldn't let us come out. During this time they had given me a 'girlfriend'. Louis explains and makes quotation marks in the air.

"Yeah, it was hard. Louis went on a lot of stunt dates with Eleanor and I made this tattoo to remind myself that we would fight for us no matter what." Harry admits and bites his lower lip.

Louis takes his hand and entwines their fingers together.
"This is when I started to reconsider getting tattoos."

"Let's move on. The next one is one of my absolute favorites. It's this tattoo that says hi. It's the first thing Louis ever said to me." Harry smiles and gazes at his husband.

"It's in my handwriting! Later I got this, Oops! Harry's handwriting of course, and it's the first thing he said to me after he peed on me." Louis grins and shows his tattoo.

"Can you stop telling people that story! It's embarrassing!" Harry huffs and crosses his arms over his chest, looking like a pouting five-year-old.

"I love how we first met. You were adorable!" Louis defends himself.

"It's still embarrassing! I can't believe I peed on your shoe!" Harry protests.

"You got my attention. I bet you did it on purpose!" Louis teases.

"Did not!" Harry gasps.

They both burst out laughing.
"Okay, next one...do you really want me to go through them all?" Harry asks and looks at the interviewer.

"Yes."

"Okay, next on was this little A for my mum Anne. Zayn drew it." Harry says and reveals a small A on his forearm.

"Then I sort of got a taste for it. The next ones are a bit melodramatic. Remember I was only eighteen at the time. So I got 'I can't change' tattooed on my wrist. I covered it up now as you can see. The meaning behind it..." Harry says and stops to think about how he's going to form his thoughts into sentences.

"I was told, both of us were told constantly that we wouldn't last. That it was just a phase. Not from our friends and family of course. It was our management and label that told us that we were confused about our sexuality, that we didn't know who we were yet. They tried really hard to make me look like a womanizer and I really didn't like it." Harry sighs and wrinkles his eyebrows. Louis strokes his arm comforting.

"The tattoo was a bold statement at that time. I can't change who I am. I can't change my sexuality and I can't change how I feel about Louis. I don't want to. I'm one of the lucky ones. I found my soulmate at sixteen. That's really rare." Harry smiles with teary eyes.

A deep sob makes him turn his head to look at his husband. Beautiful blue eyes, filled with tears meet his green ones.
"Are you trying to fucking kill me?" Louis manages to get out between sobs.

Harry immediately puts his arms around him and pulls him in for a hug.
"I'm sorry sweetheart." He mumbles.

"You can't say stuff like that and don't expect me to break down. I don't want to cry in front of the camera." Louis says after a while when he has been able to calm down.

Harry cradles Louis' cheeks with both hands and wipes away his tears with his thumbs. He gives him a peck on the lips.
"I love you."

The interviewer hands them a tissue and Harry accepts it and wipes Louis's face and eyes.
"There. Better."

"I need five minutes." Louis says.
