Mornings. I hate them. Monday mornings ecspecially. Every morning actually. I woke earlier than i was supposed to. I rolled over to tun my alarm on my phone off before it went off itself.
"Ry, wake up! You don't want to be late for your last day of your Junior year, do you?" My dad was a little over excited. He always overexaggerates everything. Ever since my mom died, he has been detemined to make the best of eveything. He loves spending time with me and my little brother. We are lucky to have some time to ourself most of the time.
I guess time to my self doesn't matter. I should be happy to hang out with my family. And i mean, don't get me wrong, I totally am. See, I have no friends. I used to have friends, until my mom died. After she passed, I would hide in my room for days upon days and just sit, read, or draw. I would miss seveal days of school in a row. Sometimes even weeks.
Thats when Sarah Kelly, the most popular girl in WoodMan High, started rumors that I would sit in my room and listen to emo music while I slit my wrists. Everyone believed her, and when i felt good enough to come back to school, she greeted me with an evil smirk and thats whem everyone would make fun of me. For a long time, I didnt know what was going on. I didnt know what everyone was ignoring me for.
I only had one friend left at the time. Her name was Carley. She had been there for me when my mom died. When i had absolutley no one.
She greeted me at my locker that day, "Hey Ryland!" I knew she had to tell me something because she only says my whole name when she is about to spill something. She told me all about the rumors. Why everyone was making fun of me and not talking to me. I felt sick. And thats when things got worse.
"Well Well Well, look who decided to show their disgusting face." I turned around to face a brown haired, blue eyed girl. She was pretty, but her attitude made her ugly. You could tell she was wearing contacts because blue eyes just didnt match her.
"Really Sarah, please just leave me alone" I said, trying to hide my face. "Oh, poor thing, now you know i cant just do that. People expect things from me and well wouldnt it be ashame if i let them down?" She said with her signature evil grin. I looked at Carley and gave her an apologetic smile signaling that I had to get out of there.
All my classes were going by extremely slow considering it was the last day of my junior year. I was excited school was letting out, but more so because of summer.
It was only third period when he walked in. His eyes were a very pretty green. He had brown hair with curls that folded to fir his face perfectly. He wore black skinny jeans with a white Rolling Stones shirt. He wasnt carrying anything with him and he was obviously new. But why now? Why the last day of school.
I told myself not to stare.
Dont look...
Dont look, Ry...
Too late.
He smiled at me. Taking the seat next to me. Immediatly his cologne hit me. He smelt extremely nice. Is that weird?
"Hi," He smiled. His teeth were white and straight. God, im so awkward.
Thats when i realized i was staring.
Say hi back Ryland!
"Hi back Ryland" I mentally face palmed myself. Im so stupid. But he laughed and smiled at me. "So, Your name is Ryland? Im Harry." I smiled at this beautiful boy beside me. "You're quite adorable" he said with a big grin. I just blushed and put my head down. For some reason, I couldnt seem to find my words today. Maybe it was those big green eyes. What about that cute british accent. I didnt know what it was but i did know that he left me speechless.
He was in my next few classes. After school was over, i walked over to my car. "Hey! Ryland...wait!" I turned around to the person yelling at me to see Harry running towards me. I smiled and gave him a soft wave. "Will you give me a ride home?" he said, smiling at me. i told him yes and he went around to the passenger side door after opening my door for me. While in the car, he took out his phone, "Im still new and I dont really know the roads yet, but heres the address." He told me his new address and i knew exactly where I was headed.
"So, Why did you show up on the last day?" I broke the silence. "We just moved here this week. My mom insisted i come today just to see what it was going to be like for my senior year," he muttered. We pulled into his driveway. He opened the door to the car to get out, "So Ryland, I would love to hang out with you sometime this summer. Can I have your number?" I smiled as i said of course and we exchanged numbers before he closed the car door. When he got to his front door, he turned and gave me the prettiest smile i had ever seen on a guy and waved goodbye.
Woah! What just happened?
