'I am telling you this tastes awesome' Divit said as he took another mouthful luchi, wrapped it with ghugni and relished the taste of the hot beans. 'Mmmm, why doesn't Ma make such good Luchi...?'
'You know your home cooked food always seems to taste bad.' Aayush said, dabbling with his portion of Luchi. Why does this idiot eats so much...one day his stomach's gonna burst open. 'Why are we in the canteen again? Didn't you gobble up both our lunches together?'
'Well, we didn't find Anisha in the playground, well normally she plays badminton with her friends there but she wasn't there, and the second best thing is eating. Hey why aren't you eating huh? I can eat both of our portions you know.' Divit said as he eyed Aayush's Luchis greedily.
'Get lost you greedy fat boy. With that kinda stomach, you ain't getting any girls let alone Anisha.' Aayush scowled. 'Heck I could have gone playing football you know, perfect weather.'
'And leave your tumbling best buddy on his own to get himself a date. Thou world dost endeth soon.'
'Its your world too you know. And anyway you got the translations wrong Shakespeare.'
Grrrr Grrrrrr
The bell rang, marking the end of the tiffin break. The hub bub of the buzzing students eating their lunches in the canteen went up a decibel as they gathered their things, washed hands, and walked off to their classes chatting and joking with one another. Aayush had been so bored, he had managed to stuff only two Luchis, the others were stuffed in by Divit as he realized his friend was going to waste his lunch.
'What classes are having now?' Divit asked as the boys rounded off the field up the staircase towards the senior classes.
'Hey Aayush Dada, what are you doing?' A shrill childish voice came from behind. Now when a child talks, you can't really judge the gender since their voices seem all the same in the younger years.
Aayush turned around to find a small girl, rolling and tumbling and making her way towards him through the crowd.
'Hi Aayush Dada, see I wore a violet hairband today' said Fabia in her rolling voice, sometimes soft and sometimes shrill, bouncing with enthusiasm as she showed her hairband to her favourite Dada.
'Wow Fabia, you look like a cute little princess in that hairband.' Aayush said.
'Yes, mum gifted me yesterday!'
'Thats great Fabia. Hey the bell already rang. You must go back to your class. Your ma'am will be angry on you else.' Aayush said gently, trying his best to keep up with the excitement of the small little girl. 'Ohh yes, the bell..okay bye Aayush Dada.' She said as she again made her way rolling and tumbling back to her class 1 A.
'Little kids are so cute..and you idiot seems to be famous around here.' Divit said as he slung his arms around Aayush.
'Well thank god you noticed I am a bit popular up here. And Fabia is kinda the sister I'd want. Anyway what were you saying again?' Aayush asked as they went up the staircase.
'Classes, what classes we got now?' Divit asked.
'Umm, oh heck...don't we have 2nd language now!' Aayush replied horrified. 'And already we are five minutes late.' He gasped as the boys made a run for their class. And to think we even didn't get to meet Anisha, Divit thought.
'There is no place for late comers in my class. Go back wherever you came from.' Mrs Sengupta said with a booming voice with barely a glance in the boys way as the two of them kept stranded in the doorway of the class.
