Chapter 6: You Win Some, You Lose All

Chapter 6:

Jason

If there was one thing Jason knew, it was that Piper was going to kill him. He gazed at the pink buildng and every instinct in his body commanded him to make a break for it. Of course, they remembered that Annabeth would slit his throat if he failed to bring the dirty truth. So, very unhappily, he pressed open the door and saw Drew and Piper yelling and the rest of the cabin watching.

"Whoa! What's going on here?" Jason said, walking up to the pair.

"She tried to kidnap me, lie and say I went on a date with Percy and steal-"

Jason looked offended. "You think I would believe that?"

"She has charmspeak!" Piper whined. "Drew would've told you to dump me and date her!"

Jason's eyes flashed towards Drew furiously. "They are plenty of boys at this camp!"

"None like you, Jassie," said Drew.

"Did you just call my boyfriend Jassie?" Piper gagged.

Jason watched in a daze as Piper judo-flipped Drew, grabbed his arm, and made a break for it.

"I'm guessing you wanted to talk, Sparky."

"Yeah. Should I just fly us?"

Piper winced, probably thinking about Leo.

"He's alive," promised Jason. Without permission, he grabbed her back and calves and blasted up into the clouds.

Piper laughed. "Alright, what is it?'

Blame me, Jason. I know you hate to do that...but you would hate it more to do that to Piper.

No, he argued with Reyna's earlier statement. Piper will most certainly hate for me to blame it on you.

"Pipes...look, I-"

"Are you breaking up with me?" Piper asked.

Jason smiled. "You need glasses for your mind," he teased. "Of course I'm not dumping you."

Piper frowned. "You're acting...different."

Jason sighed. "Reyna and I kissed. Once."

Piper looked like she wanted to walk away, but she was in the air in his arms.

"Why?" She asked simply.

"Accident. We bumped into each other, we fell on each other and my lips touched hers."

It was a stupid lie, but he really didn't like Reyna that way, but saying he didn't...that did nothing to a girl.

"Tell the truth," Piper said, probably using her charmspeak.

The urge to tell the truth was not as strong as the urge to keep her happy.

"I love you," He said blankly, unable to control the words. "I kissed Reyna because...because you set a distance between us."
Piper's expression softened. "Sorry. But why-"
"-because shit was happening and I needed someone. It was just a talk and she--I thought of you and it just happened."
Piper bit her lip. "Would you rather date her?" She questioned.
"No. I love you," he said before kissing her. "Why have you been avoiding me?" He added.
Her face became distant. "Because you remind of the quest. You remind me of Leo."
Jason's face slackened. "So you loved him at some point."
"Jason, stop putting this on me! He was like a brother to me--"
He flew down and put down Piper. "Start talking with me when you're ready to tell the truth."
"Jason--"
"Without the charmspeak!" He snapped before flying back to Jupiter; he had a tour to direct.
