Moments after the queens burial, the royal advisor informed prince Zeldris of the circus that will be in capital in a couple of weeks for his birthday. Zeldris wanted this day to uplift the mood of his people especially his father.
Once he went to inform his father of the circus, prince Zeldris said, "Father, soon the circus will be arriving. I'll be welcoming them, in your place". His father replied, "Nonsense, you thought I would actually forget that tomorrow is the anniversary of your birth!". Zeldris was elated by this and had no patience for tomorrow to come.
On the day...
The marksman asked for a volunteer, as he said, " who else but the king will be brave enough to accept the challenge! ". The king accepted and was soon tied to a spinning board. The marksman began his impalement art and thrown his first knife inches next to the left leg, the second knife was thrown on the left side of his head, the third knife was thrown on top of his head and choped of a few strands of hair, the final knife was about to be thrown- everyone was on their toes. The final knife seemed to be heading for his head, the prince was about to stand but as soon as he saw it hit the apple in the king's mouth, he was relieved. The crowd cheered for this entertaining show!
But little did The king know, that the apple he sinked his teeth in, whilst he was shaking in his boots, was actually poisoned.The poison never had any effect throughout the banquet. Soon Zeldris walked his father to his chambers, as his father entered his room and said his goodbyes, Zeldris walked away but soon heard a commotion. He rushed into the room only to see his helpless father lying on the floor with a dagger in his chest.
