" Mackenzie tell yo brother get up and get ready NEOW. Y'all Uber should be here in 30min. I love y'all bye" Mackenzie's mother said rushing off to work.
That's how it was almost every school morning. She would tell Michael to get up when she got Mackenzie but he wasn't having it. He'll just go back to sleep with no care at all.
Mackenzie did everything in her power to not have them looking and being poor. She was the definition of a hustler. She did late shifts and she even talked to a few sugar daddies that only wanted foot pictures. She was doing what needed to be done to provide for her family.
Mackenzie and Michael's dad wasn't in there life anymore. It hurt Mackenzie and Michael but Mackenzie more because she was attached to that guy. It was a weird relationship they had.
" Come on Michaellll mama said the Uber will be here in 30 mins. That gives you 15 minutes to shower and 15 to get ready. She made breakfast sandwiches for us today" She told Michael shaking him out of his sleep.
He woke up not saying a word just going to take a shower. He had about 20 mins in the shower because he already had his outfit ready.
Michael had major anger problems. He didn't take his medicine because he felt as if he didn't need them. So instead of taking them every morning, he'll flush it down the toilet to make it seem like he did.
Michael was no monster and he wasn't about to take them.
Mackenzie started making sure she had everything before spraying on her favorite Victoria secret perfume. She can't be going to school smelling stank.
" Hey bro. Mama cooked some waffles and bacon for you because she knows you don't eat the breakfast sandwiches like we do " Mackenzie told Michael fixing his plate and giving it to him when she noticed him downstairs. He just nodded.
Michael wasn't a morning person. He was tired of school. Michael a Junior and Mackenzie was a Senior.
She was almost done with school and was happy. She didn't know what she wanted to do after school. But she knew she'll figure it out eventually.
Mackenzie heard a beep and noticed that had to be the Uber and gathered her and Michael things locking the door and making there way to the car door.
" Two locations right? " The woman asked for conformation and they both nodded and replied with " Yes Ma'ams"
The lady dropped Michael off first then made their way to Mackenzie's school.
She went to a school people would call ghetto but it wasn't .... Maybe a little bit.
If you asked her it was ghetto but me the author I have to make it seem nice.
She thanked the lady and made her way to her first class which was History
" Hi Mackenzie we have a new student her name is Zephatory," Mrs.Teller said.
" Hi, I'm Mackenzie. You can sit with me when class starts." Mackenzie smiled. She was friendly; her mother didn't raise a mean or rude person without manners.
" Okay thanks"
Zephatory was a pretty girl. She was big but not big more on the chubby side. She was clean with her body. She wasn't sloppy with her weight at all. You could tell she was shy when she played with her hair.
The bell rang and the students started coming into the class. The teacher waited till a decent number came in to introduce the new student.
" Okay class we have a new student her name is Zephatory-" The teacher was saying when she was cut off by a girl named Ruth
Who the fuck names their child ruth? if your name Ruth I'm sorry for you Mackenzie thought.
" Ghetto ass name," She said and got laughs. Zephatory just looked down.
Mackenzie hated it when people would do stuff like that.
" You sitting here saying her name ghetto but yo name RUtH ... What was yo mother doing naming yo ass Ruth. You do too much. Like, shut the fuck you. And Zephatory, you cute as fuck girl " A girl named Nicole said.
Nicole .... Everybody and their mother had that basic ass name.
Ruth didn't say anything back because she knew Nicole would hurt her feelings and wouldn't give a damn. The teacher used to them bickering back and forth and she didn't care. She didn't even wanna be here but she needed to pay the bills.
" Anyways today you'll be watching a video on today's lesson get together in three and take notes. If there are notes on papers you will get 100% as a test grade. " Mrs.Teller said
Mackenzie, Zephatory, and Nicole decided on being partners since they were the last ones.
" So like y'all wanna be friends or no" Nicole flat out said. They seemed like her type of friends. Pretty and they minded their business.
Nicole never saw Mackenzie in drama so she knew she was going to be a good friend of hers.
Zephatory and Mackenzie looked at each other and nodded. They all would be new to each other and she knew she had most classes with Nicole.
" Okay let me see y'all phones so we can text each other. And Zephatory you know what we gon' call you Zeph cause 'Zephatory ' is a mouth full " Nicole said which made the girls laugh.
