The Secret Rider

Chapter 2

Daichi's POV
The next day, everyone except Sugawara and Hinata arrived at Bright Fields at 2 pm, originally we settled with 12 pm, but soon decided we need sleep. When I checked when everyone read the new time, I saw that Sugawara and Hinata didn't read it. Oh well, they'll see it later. I called them to make sure, but no one picked up so I left them a voice message.

Sugawara's POV
Me and Hinata arrived at the stables at 12 pm to practise with our horses, and we were doing dressages and leaping through borders and practising our routine. We didn't notice the team arrive.

3rd Person POV'
'They probably didn't receive the message. Oh well, let's start without them!' Tanaka said.
Just then, our mighty crow team saw exactly a silver-haired third and a hyper, energetic orange-haired first year were doing hard jumps with their horses. Tanaka, Kageyama and Nishinoya was shouting at them. 'Woah! That was so cool!' Hinata beamed at Sugawara as he made his way to the hurdle. 'You can do it Hinata!' Sugawara flashed a smile to Hinata. Just then,  Hinata heard some shouting but he ignored it. 'There there girl,' he petted his horse's mane 'You can do it, I believe in you, and plus, we practised'. Sugawara and his horse made their way to the enter and exit gate, which was where the flock of volleyball-playing crows were.  Sugawara got off his horse and Daichi instantly bombarded him with questions, which Sugawara waved off for now. 

Hinata's POV

Charlie still wasn't too familiar with the current height of the hurdle. Charlie then managed to throw me off him. 'Woah!' I said as I fell to the ground, making a thud. I sat up, and I rubbed my back 'Owww....' I winced. It hurt, but not too much. I heard many people shout my name. I see Sugawara running towards me and some other people with him. Sugawara grabbed Charlie and tied them to a post and calmed them down. 'Check on Hinata!' he shouted to the team. Daichi and Kageyama instantly started asking me questions. 'Hinata boke! That was dangerous! Why would you do a jump so high when you've never even rode a horse before?!' Kageyama said. He looked genuinely worried. Before I could even say anything, Sugawara finished up and walked to us. 'Correction, Kageyama. We do know how to ride and we do know the dangers of it. Hinata and Charlie could normally jump that hurdle, y'know' Sugawara said as he walked over. 'W-what?! You can ride a horse?!' Tanaka shouted. 'Woah Shoyo! My little Kouhai!' Nishinoya beamed.

(Quick A/N here: Kouhai is to describe underclassmen in work or school, or they are less experienced in a field than you)

'Can you guys please step out of the ring? Hinata has an important match in a few weeks, and he's practicing.' Sugawara said politely. I nodded in agreement  and they walked out with Sugawara. Sugawara gave me a concerned look as I stood up. I jumped up and down a few timesand waved my hand to tell him that I was fine.  

3rd Person POV

Hinata fixed the hurdle and untied Charlie and got on them. 'Cmon girl' he petted their mane 'What if more people are watching? You can do it!' Hinata whispered to his horse. They quickly manage to complete the jump. The crows then see 2 people riding enter the ring. 

'Asuza-kun! Meguni-chan!' Hinata shouted and waved, and Sugawara flashed them a smile and waved. The 3 were talking for a bit on their horses before the flock of crows ran over, Sugawara attempting to stop them but failed. Asuza's horse attempted to walk away but Asuza calmed him down. 'Hinata-kun, are you ok?' Meguni said. Tanaka and Noya looked at her 'Hot...' they drooled.  'Yeah, i'm fine' Hinata said. 'The team spooked him, that's all' Hinata added. 'Right, i have to tell them how dangerous it was' Sugawara said as he faced the remainder of the crows.

'Y'know, it's very dangerous, shouting at a horse field! Horses are sensitive to loud noises, you idiots!' Sugawara said and huffed. These were one of the rare times that Sugawara was truly pissed off, and it doesn't happen often. The crows shivered, except Hinata and Sugawara. Asuza, Meguni and Hinata sweatdropped. 'Good luck' Hinata mouthed and trotted away with the other 2 while Sugawara was giving a lecture on why what they did was wrong.  

After Sugawara was done lecturing the other crows, he led them out of the ring. 'Yo yo Karasuno, it's nice to finally meet you!' Asuza waved and said. Everyone already got off of their horses and put them in the pen. 'So, horse allocations for today. Follow me Karasuno.' Meguni said as she walked, gesturing the grows to follow her. Just then, Tanaka and Noya made their way beside Meguni. 'H-hi there!' Tanaka and Noya said. 'I'm Tanaka-' 'And i'm Nishinoya! But you can call me Noya!' The two tried to make conversation with Megumi until Asuza came over and snaked his arm around Megumi's waist, earning a light squeak from Megumi who was ignoring the 2 second years. 'Sorry boys, Megi-tan's mine.' Asuna said and winked at the 2 second years. Daichi chuckled at the scene, along with Sugawara. 

'We're here.' Megumi said. 'Thank you Megumin-chan! we'll take it from here, you both go ready the ring' Sugawara said as he patted Megumi and Asuza's shoulder and the couple walked away. 'Let's get started on choosing your horses, shall we?' Sugawara said and clapped his hands together. 'Ooh! Ooh! I wanna pick first!' Noya and Tanaka said in unison. They stared at each other. 'You don't choose them, they choose you' Sugawara said as he took some horse equipment from the hooks. He pointed to some helmets. 'Put them on first' he said. The team walked over and put on a helmet. They walked back and formed a vertical line. Sugawara grabbed one horse one at a time and let them sniff the team and choose their rider for the day. About 10 minutes later, everyone had a horse and held onto the lead of their horse. They were ready for a fun day of horse riding.
