My sincere apologies.

[E/c] eyes gaze up at the sky. How she envied it. Everything looked so peaceful up there, how she wished her life mimicked the same from start to finish.

Instead, here she laid. Stabbed through more than a piece of pork— katana still sheathed deep within her side. The effects of Wisteria sentenced her to death. She had no power to rip away the venomous blade. Who would've guessed this is how it ended. She wanted to shout, to scream, but her lips couldn't even part.

She wondered, regretted, nearly everything. [F/n] despised how her indecisiveness controlled her feelings. Though, living like this does warrant it; a shifter, a kitsune, a demon.

"My sincere apologies," the image of Zenitsu's kind smile forms, "it's just— it's hard— to love you when I'm meant to be six feet underground... but you already know that, right?"

At what cost exactly? She couldn't even remember why she was fighting. The memory was becoming way too hazy, maybe that was a good thing. Her eyelids hung below her [e/c] orb. The moon beams brightly at her, light alluring. Like a moth to a flame, she reaches to it.

It was time. The flashbacks; the reflection.

"What you're doing is dangerous. I'm sure you realize it."

Of course she knew. How couldn't she? It was the very reason why she was so reluctant in the first place.

The moon erased itself from her vision, and out came the sun. [F/n] stood like normal, feeling the nostalgia hit her just momentarily.

Silence beams through the atmosphere like a poison. An emptiness lingers arise as crows flutter by, unaffected. Their gentle flapping fanned her from the sun's beating heat.

[F/n] stands firmly before Ubuyashiki, bowing respectively despite him unable to see her gesture. His orbs were shifted at her figure, a smile placed warmly on his lips. The expression was deceiving.

As he tries to find the words, his lips form into an unsure line. Ubuyashiki rocks his head. "[L/n]?" He calls uncertain. The demon in response blinks, taking a single step closer to him.

"Yes?"

His head tilts aside, strands of hair falling atop his shoulder. "Well there's not exactly an easy way to say this." He begins, a hint of concern in his voice. "I would like to first thank you for all your hard labor. That previously, and that of the future. You've done us extremely well." Her beating heart grows.

"Well..." He murmured. "There has been alleged sightings of Upper Moon demons in the local villages."

The statement sent a shockwave through her chest, heart freezing at the simple mention of other Moons. Mind wandering for an answer why, why were they lingering near her residence. Were they planning some sort of attack? That would pure suicide on their behalf.  "Ah." She responds. "Have they attacked the village?" Her face fell at her own question.

"No." This answer would be the only reassuring statement he could provide.

The more he spoke, the more information he provided, none of it was anything positive. It was completely crushing. Vision becomes blurred as an uncomfortable silence befell them.
