Back to the present...

"Um...sir?" Noah raised his hand in a true college student fashion. "I think there has been a mistake. Did you say I was engaged? I don't remember proposing." he let out a nervous chuckle.

"There's no mistake, you heard me. You are marrying my daughter Serena and that's final," Alex said grimly.

What the fuck...there was no way he would marry someone he barely knew. A crazy one at that! Noah thought.

"But Sir..."

"Call me Alex," Alex protested.

"Alex, I am only 22 years old. Don't you think I am too young to get married? I am still in college!" he said.

"Nonsense. If you think you are old enough to fuck, you are old enough to get married. And the college thing is your choice. If you marry Serena, you can take over some of my businesses and make a lot of money that way. You'll be set for life," he grinned.

Tempting offer. Maybe this is not going to be a bad deal. No wait...what was he thinking? He couldn't marry Serena. He was back together with Kelly. He loves Kelly!

"I am afraid I am going to politely decline your kind offer. Serena is amazingly gorgeous. But she is not the one for me. I already have a girlfriend," Noah said. Alexander looked like a reasonable man so this should be enough to convince him, he thought.

Alex looked at Noah and smiled. His piercing blue eyes were cold as ice. Noah felt a chill down his spine.

"So you think that you can sleep with my daughter and there won't be any consequences?" he asked.

Noah scratched his head nervously. "P..people sleep together all the time. That doesn't mean they should get married right away...am I wrong?" he asked. He tried to straighten his shoulders and attempted to stand up but Alex pushed him back down on the chair.

"But you see Noah, my daughter Serena is very important to me. And she made a request that I can't refuse. She wants you to be hers. And I am going to give her what she wants. You. So get ready for your wedding son and don't worry about the costs. I'll cover everything.

Noah stood up abruptly. This is absurd. He doesn't have to listen to some businessman and his daughter! This is the 21st century. Who does he think he is!

"I appreciate your generosity but no. I am with my girlfriend so I have no intention of marrying your daughter," he said firmly.

Alex looked at him intently then looked to his left. "Jon, come over here. I don't think Mr. Smith understands what I am trying to tell him," he said.

Jon walked toward Noah and roughly grabbed his shirt.

"HEY!" Noah started to protest as he dragged him away. What the hell was he planning on doing to him!

"Where are you taking me?" Noah cried.

"To the other room, so the blood doesn't ruin the carpet in my office," Alex said calmly.

They dragged him inside a room and forced him to sit on a large table like in one of those gangster movies.

Wait...are the rumors true? Is Alexander Wolf actually in Mafia? Well shit...Noah thought.

"What the hell are you guys doing? This is assault," Noah complained.

Alex sat in front of him and leaned in closer. "Quit being a bitch and listen," he said.

"Wha...what?" Noah stammered.

"How much do you like your left hand?" Alex asked. His eyes bored into Noah's soul.

"What are you talking about?" Noah was confused.

"Your left hand, are you super attached to it? Do you use it often?" he asked.

"Err...sometimes?" Noah asked. Where was this crazy old man going with this?

"Okay, how about I give you a choice then. You don't have to marry Serena, but in return, I am taking your left hand," Alex said casually.

"What the fuck do you mean?" Noah's eyes turned wide.

"Marry her or give me hand. Simple. If you marry her, you get to keep the hand since the wedding ring needs to go on your left ring finger," Alex smirked.

"You...you are messing with me, right? This is not a very funny joke," Noah's voice shook. Something told him Alexander Wolf wasn't joking.

"Am I messing...hey Jon, am I messing with Noah here?" he looked at Jon and asked. Jon shook his head no.

"There you have it. I am dead serious. Jon, hand me the cleaver," he said. Jon quickly grabbed a cleaver and gave it to Alex.

Alex grabbed Noah's hand and pressed it against the table so he couldn't take it away. Then raised his cleaver up high.

"This will be quick, you won't feel a thing," Alex cooed.

Holy shit...this dude is crazy, Noah thought frantically. He tried to take his hand away and punch Alex but Jon grabbed his shoulder and locked him in place.

"You can still choose Serena. A beautiful bride with lots of money or a missing hand?" Alex challenged.

Well when he put it like that, it doesn't sound so bad being with Serena. Especially since the alternative is losing his hand. Alex made a swinging motion as he was going to drop that cleaver on Noah's wrist.

"SERENA! I choose Serena," Noah cried.

"Are you sure?" Alex raised his eyebrows.

"Yes. I am sure. Just release me, goddammit!" Noah screamed.

"Great choice. Let's put this in writing. Bring the paperwork, Jon," Alex ordered.

This crazy son of a bitch had everything ready for him, Noah thought. He tried to think of an escape plan but his mind was drawing a blank.

Why did you pick me, Serena? What was going through that pretty head of yours? Noah thought to himself.
