[Alex's POV]

Fuck.

This is endless. It seems like closing the portal is our only option. What is Tasha doing? "CAP!" I yelled, watching him stuck down by one of the warriors, barely holding out on his own. Without hesitation, I send a precise blast, sending the warrior a distant distance away. There was an obvious struggle to stay alive before he fell dead. Thor was immediately at Steve's side, pulling him up. He gave a thumbs up and I nodded, hearing the conversation between both men. "Are you ready for another bout?" "What, you getting' sleepy?" Chuckling, I turned my attention to the girl beside me. "When are they stopping? It's endless." Kritanta grumbled. "Is there any way to close the portal?" Just then, the comms busted to life and Tasha called out. "I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!" "Then do it!" I yelled, taking another warrior down easily before launching another attack. But that doesn't defer the number of warriors from increasing. "No, wait!" "Stark, these things are still coming!" "I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." I took in a shaking breath. Who... Who orders the nuke? "And I know just where to put it." In a distance, I watched Tony meeting the nuke halfway before leading the way toward the portal. Wait. What is he thinking? "Tony!" "Alex, just trust me on this." "NO! Did you even know the risk?" "Stark, you know that's a one-way trip." Steve's face was grave, and I immediately released my gliders, preparing to take over at any second. "I know." "Bullshit! You don't!" The familiar click signals the closure of the comms and I yelled, "TONY! Damnit"

That idiot.

[Tony's POV]

"Cut the line, J. Save the rest for return." "Are you sure, Sir?" "Do it!" I hissed. I know, it might just be cowardly of me, but I do not want to hear Alex's voice. Certainly not when I know I am just heading to my death. Alex, I'm so, so sorry. I don't mean to make you sad. Let me stay heroic in your final memories of me. Thank you for all these years. "Sir, shall I call Miss Potts?" "You might as well." I cleared my voice, fearing that it will give me away. Peps, the love of my life, please pick up. I climb higher and higher over the city, gaining speed and momentum before flings myself through the portal, releasing the nuke in my hand. Suddenly everything slows down as I take in every single detail in horror. Communication line went flat as the suit began to freeze, and I couldn't do anything. The missile slips through my hands, heading towards the huge cluster of approximately ninety ships in the black sky. Most of them are still, as if waiting for the orders to move through the portal for another wave of attack. Some were moving swimmingly about. But I gave a small smile, as I watched the entire armada exploding into a supernova before my eyes. We had done it...

[Alex's POV]

Damn you, Tony, seriously? Can you just at least stop to listen to me for once? "Jay?" "Young Lady." "How's Tony holding up?" "Sir is accelerating his speed." Fuck, we have to work fast. There's no time left. I am not letting Tony do this alone, especially with an unknown army fleet behind the portal. "Jay! Full power charged for Glider 01, Iron Boots protocol, ready for take-off. Put everything we have into the thrusters!" "Yes, Young Lady." "TASHA!" "Yes!" "Closed the portal 5 seconds after you see me getting into it." There was a moment of silence as she hesitated. I hissed. There's no time for any of it. Do it or everyone will suffer from the backlash of the missile. "No hesitation. Do it!" "Noted." "Horatia! What are you doing?" "What else? Get that moron back. I am not going to have anyone dying on me. Jay?" I stepped onto the glider, watching it transform into the Iron Boots and the reactor powering on within seconds. "Young Lady, Glider 01 ready to take off." At that, I kicked off the ground, speeding off to the portal. Tony, wait for me.

As per calculation, I slammed into Tony's falling suit, just barely into the portal. Wait... This is space? "Alex?" There was a low whisper from the suit, before Tony's breath even out, slowing. "Don't worry, Tony, I got you," Knowing that there's no time to waste, I wrapped my arms around his suit, pulling and dragging it as we high tailed out of the portal. "Alex!" Tasha yelled over the comms. "CLOSE IT! TASHA, CLOSE IT!" We barely managed to slip out of the portal, as it closed behind us. But there was an increasing amount of hissing, and I turned to look, just to catch many Chitauri warriors squeezing their way through, trying their best to stop it from closing. Those damn Chitauris. bUT... We might have a use for them later. With a wrist rotation, a portal opens, sucking those who barely managed to escape into the space portal that I opened. After confirming that all the escapees are safely hidden in the space portal, I closed it, while ensuring that the other portal is closed. That should be all. Just then, I felt the power flickering from one of the reactors beneath the Iron Boots. What the... I thought there shouldn't be any issues? Holding my breath, I clicked the comms on, checking. "Jay?" "Young Lady, the portal might have caused a side effect on the reactors. I am unable to troubleshoot nor provide any further power into them." "Kronos...." And the next thing I knew, I was plunging down. "Horatia? You are not slowing." Fuck. This is certainly not how I envisioned my death. With another quick wave, I could barely slow the time down as both Tony and I sped down earth. Damn it. "Son of a gun! Thor?" "They are still not slowing down enough," Thor noted, hands starting swinging the Mjolnir quickly. "You better make it quick! I don't know how much I can hold on to." I yelled into the comms, hoping that whatever help would come quickly. The Iron Suit is really heavy. Just then, there was a flash of green and a huge arm swagged around both Tony and me; and we went smashing into the side of a building. "BRUCE!" I gasped to a smiling Hulk.
