[3rd person's POV]
With enforced guards and guns, Loki was escorted to the glass cell. Passing by the lab, he smirked, locking into Bruce's eyes. Tired. Stress. Anger. He was never someone who will rise up to one's anger, but the monster in him is ready to come out at any second, rising to fight the one who decides that it would be fun to provoke. Bruce sighed, removing his specs and pinched his nose with pain expression. If it weren't for the good management of his feelings, he would have lost control. Just then, there was an announcement. "Dr Banner, we need your help. Agent Stark is down. In need of your expertise." Giving another sigh, Bruce made his way down to the medical ward.
Meanwhile at the glass cell -
[Loki's POV]
Entering, The door closed behind me and clicked locked. Interesting cell. "In case it's unclear, if you try to escape, you can so much as scratch that glass." Watching the man making his way towards the screens and pressing something, I stepped a small step to the side just to watch a huge hole opened in the middle of the cell. Definitely interesting. "Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. Do you get how that works? Ant." He points at me, before changing to point at another button on the screen. "Boot." I snickered before my eyes snapped up to meet him. "Impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me." "Built for something a lot stronger than you." "Oh, I have heard." I turned to look up at the small hidden camera at the side of the room. I bet everyone is watching this... discussion. "The mindless beast makes a play to be the man."
Continuing, I asked. "How desperate are you? You call on these lost creatures to defend you." "How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force which you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and yet, you kill cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did." Annoyance. Bitter. Anger. Oh, I certainly have fun. "Oh, it burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is." "Yeah. Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something." He left, stomping off to wherever he has to be. Well, well. The fun part is just getting started.
[Alex's POV]
"So, doctor, what's my verdict?" I playfully asked, before groaning at the movement. Damn, it hurts to be hurt. Dr Banner gave a side-eye before going back to the X-Ray scan. "Impressive.." And he went silent again and I gave a face of indignity. "Is that all you can say?" "You should count yourself lucky. Without your special abilities, and returning to the battlefield again will cost you your life." I yelped when he swapped at my head. "HEY! An injured lady over here!" "At least you are able to remember that now. I truly wonder why you are crowned as the smartest lady of this generation with this recklessness and memory." Huffing indignity at the remark, I struck out my tongue in defiance but was quickly hunching over the pain. Even with the fast healing, it still hurts like hell. Dr Banner sighs, before patting my back condolencely. "No more fighting and sudden movement until it has fully recovered." "BUT!" "No buts!" I wanted to rebuke but the look on Dr Banner's face was no-nonsense. Damn. What if there's an emergency? There was a sigh and Dr Banner finally spoke up. "I highly doubt any mortal medicine could be of any help right now, but I will bandage your torso in support for your lungs." "Thanks, Doc."
There was some muttering outside the door I picked up, where he had disappeared to and I giggled. Dr Banner returned with basic medication and bandages. "What's the joke?" "Contradictory, I wasn't smart at all. And... I still remembered you, Bruce." His eyes snapped up, meeting mine. I smiled. "We are in the same batch of biology, isn't it? And frankly, I truly think that you are way better than me in that field." "You... are that Alex. You remembered." "So do you, isn't it? And I am really sorry for your loss in all these years, Bruce." A lot of things happen during those few years of university. Rumours were spreading like hellfire on how I was a devil's daughter due to the weird time wraps incidents happening in the campus or I'm just another one of Tony's girls. Bruce was the only one who stood up for me. But it was quickly as it seems, I had to make another escape, unable to return the favour. It was one of my many regrets. "I.. I thought something had happened..." "Yeah, Asgard happens. Time waits for no men, Bruce, and it really hurts me not to be able to help you change your course in life after that fatal incident but... rules are rules, Bruce. I'm sorry. I really am." "So.. it's true, isn't it. You... You're..." I nodded, acknowledging it and his eyes were wet when he finally looked up from the kits again, before tugging me into a light embrace. I returned it, as I calmed him down with my powers. This poor man does not deserve such a life. "Thank you. But, now with that, I will still like to officially discuss your input on the difference between Asgardian physiology, neurology and.." I quickly raised my hand, stopping him. "Can we talk about this after this whole thing? And this too..." I pointed to the already loosening bandage and Bruce burst into laughter, hands quickly went to work once again.
