Friend and The LadsIt was dark. All that Friend could see was black. This was partly because he had his eyes closed at the moment, but that's besides the point. He was clutching his ukulele so tightly, he felt like his whole right hand was going to fall off. He finally opened his eyes and looked out onto the stage. He saw the rival band performing their "song". It sounded horrible to Friend, but the crowd was loving it. Really loving it. Friend felt a hand on his shoulder that made him jump. It was his fellow bandmate, Buddy."Everything ok? You seem a little bit worried." Buddy asked, clearly concerned for Friend."I'm ok, it's just that the crowd loves them." Friend replied, looking at the floor. It was apparent that he was close to tears. "Hey, there. Don't be sad." Buddy said, hugging him. "Their music is terrible anyway. We've been practicing for months!"The drummer, Pal walked over and gave Friend a cupcake to cheer him up, but before he could take a bite, they could hear their band-name being called from the intercom. It was time.They all walked onto the stage, crowd already going wild. The trio was lead by a nervous Friend. After everything had been set up, they all prepared to play. "One, Two, Three, Four!" Pal shouted. They all started playing. Soon, they noticed that Friend had had a sudden case of stage fright. He made not a move. The crowd was starting to get confused too."What do we do?" Pal asked Buddy. "We sing". Buddy responded."But you know I don't sing!" Pal said."Well tonight we do!" Buddy shouted.He took the microphone and began to say the words. Eventually, Pal joined in. It sounded decent, but it wasn't anything compared to what the previous band had performed. The band were beginning to lose hope when all of a sudden, both Pal and Buddy jumped when they heard the sound of Friend singing his heart out.Everyone smiled widely as they knew everything was looking up for them. They continued their performance and rocked all throughout the night.
