Soon enough, the princesses made it to Hugo's palace, and they entered when King Garrick came.

"Sofia, so glad you could make it," Garrick smiled.

"Hi, King Garrick," Sofia smiled back.

"Well, Hugo is in the observatory with Axel, but they're still putting up the lens in the telescope," Garrick told her. "Be careful in there, and don't do anything to scare them."

"Okay," Sofia nodded.

The princesses went up to the palace observatory, and they couldn't believe the new telescope.

"Doesn't she become this observatory?" Sofia asked. "It's got a 36-inch glass mirror and reflector style with 1500 magnification power."

"Wow, Sofia, I didn't know you were that smart," Elena smiled.

"I'm not—Hugo told me the telescope would be like this," Sofia said. "There he is now."

Prince Hugo and his older brother, Axel, were each on a ladder on the side of the telescope, and they were about to install the lens. The princesses went up to the telescope, and Sofia was standing between the ladders.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Flo suddenly screeched.

The sound of Flo's voice scared Hugo and Axel so much that they dropped the lens, which was going to land on Sofia, who managed to run away. She barely got out of the way in time, and the lens shattered on the floor, to everyone's shock. Hugo and Axel got down from their ladders.

"Is everyone okay?" Sofia asked.

"Are you okay?" Hugo asked her. "That was a close call."

"He's right, Sofia," Axel agreed. "That thing could've landed on you, and you could've been seriously hurt."

"Who was it that screamed like that in the first place?" Hugo asked.

"It just happens to be our pet alpacamundi, Flo," Isabel said.

"Alpacamundi?" Axel asked. "I've never even heard of one."

"They're creatures from the realm of Vallestrella," Sofia said. "She's a little active."

"Too active," Elena said. "She scared you enough to make you drop that lens."

"And that was an important part of the telescope," Axel groaned.

"King Garrick told us not to scare you while you were installing the lens," Sofia said.

"Flo, an observatory can be a dangerous place—it's not right to do any horseplay in here," Elena scolded.

"I'm sorry," Flo apologized. "I didn't mean to scare them."

"It's okay—at least no one got hurt," Hugo said.

"So much for seeing the meteor shower through the new telescope," Axel groaned.

But Elena and Isabel had an idea.

"We can make a new lens for the telescope," Elena said.

"You know I trust you, Elena, but you think we can whip up a new lens in a short amount of time?" Sofia asked.

"We did the same thing once before in Avalor," Isabel said. "This time will be even better because there was only three of us, but now there's five of us, so we'll get it done faster."
