The war has officially begun. The civilians have been taken prisoners. Every man and woman in their peak fitness and intelligence has been sent to the Recruitment Office- by force. There seems to be no hope for survival of those living in large cities. Those of us who live in small, often uncharted towns and villages have been stocking up on arms and supplies. We also dug up old blueprints of underground bunks, designed to survive nuclear weapons, and are attempting to recreate them, if the need arises. When it arises.
Because it will. China and The U.S.A have already begun plans, or so the rumour goes.
This is Justice Revelia. I'm recording live from- actually, you know what, let that remain a secret. What I can tell you is I'm a 14 year old girl, whose mother was gassed by U.S.A's Nazis. I heard that the Nazis were originally started by some asshole- pardon my language- named Adolf Hitler from Germany or something. Although he died, and so did his cult, somebody revived this age-old bigotry in 2018, and it has been growing since then. During the outbreak of a virus in 2020, when there was a world-wide lockdown, they gathered more forces by tempting those who didn't have the money for treatment, and worked in utmost secrecy.
They're not really the most secret group on earth now, though.
You might be wondering why I'm recording this. How a teen like me gained access to a recording studio in the middle of a World War. How I'm still alive, while my mother is dead. And I'll answer these questions, and many more, in the upcoming tracks. For now, I'm on the run. Not alone, thank goodness. I'm with my best friend Iris Shade. Her parents had been recruited, and she hasn't heard from them since. We want to find them, but as of now, we're just wandering here and there. One village to the next. We found that abandoned villages were the best place to stay for the maximum of one or two weeks, since no one bothered to check them very much. And often for good reason. These were usually the places where massacres occurred in the distant past, or mass recruitments. Sometimes threats from the Nazis had forced their previous occupants to move out of fear for their lives and freedom. This is why we both had to be careful- you never know when Nazi secret camps might be set up in one. They're also places of great resources, on the other hand. They are almost always located next to a water source, have plenty of game and weapons, and shelter. It also helps that they're- ironically -peaceful, with birds chirping about and the soft grass growing on the streets. Flowers grow here and there, and if we're lucky, there'll be a berry bush or a fruit tree nearby.
It's almost enough to make us forget their gruesome history.
Iris was the one who suggested bringing colour pencils and a blank drawing book. At first, I thought that that was one of her crazier ideas, but I have to admit, it relaxes me to see her draw after a long day. That, and the fact that she's crazy good at it. I tried it once too, but it seemed like I chewed up some colours then spat them on paper. So yeah.
Currently, we're in an old town. After we found a good, hidden place to rest- a tiny little cottage right at the outskirts- we went searching for a supermarket, or a ration store (they had plenty of those in every town we stayed in so far). We're getting low on first aid and sanitary napkins, and if we can find a clothes shop, that would be awesome. My t- shirt is getting dirtier day by day. If you're wondering why not just wash it, let me tell you that it's the only shirt I have. I may have lost the other one in a fire, but that's a different story. Besides, it's not like we're gonna stay here for more than a day or two. It's hardly safe to settle down for more than a week, usually. One never knows what might happen. Back to point- Iris and I decided to rest for a while, and that was when I found this recording studio. I really have no idea why people would build one in this place- it seems like a raven among swans- but it does have a functioning air conditioner, an old- fashioned vending machine and a lovely sitting area with fluffy sofas and somewhat shiny mahogany tables. The microphone is evidently working, and I found out that it's a conveniently portable set, with a storage drive. It worries me that it's a Bluetooth set though, since it could be hacked easily, so I'm switching it off when we go out again. We won't take any risks. Also- wait... Iris? Iris? What's- hey! Leave her alone you b- stop that! (thump) oh... you won't take us without a fight, no no no- OOMPH... JUSTICE WAKE UP! OH MY GOD, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! JUSTICE! JU-OOF!
