Max. At  one time, I thought he was my only reason to be alive. I loved him. And at the time, I geuss he loved me.

About 3 months before she died, Kaylan and I were at the mall.  It’s not that we were rich or anything, we just liked walking around, going into stores, trying on stuff we could never afford and maybe even finding a guy.  The issue for me was, Kaylan was gorgeous- stormy gray eyes, long dirty blonde hair that hung down her back perfectly, and perfect outfits; always.  The guys always looked at her and she almost always had a great boyfriend by her side, unlike me.  The funny thing was, as they stared at her, she always said

“Look at that hotty looking at you, Mia,” as she nodded her head towards some super cute guy.  I would laugh and shake my head and just drag her on.  But later that day as we walked up to Starbucks,  I saw one of those “hotties”.  I was instantly hypnotized by his sparkling icy blue eyes and perfect complexion.   His hair was a lighter brown that was short but still adorable.

As we quickly walked towards the “basic” coffee shop, I bumped into him. (I swear it was not on purpose- okay, fine maybe not) He smiles at me with these gorgeous straight teeth and reached into to his pocket to pull out his phone.  I looked down and stole a glance over at Kaylan, who was standing there smiling like an idiot.  She raised her eyebrows and started cracking up.

“Can I, ah, get your number or something..” the boy asked slowly not wanting to interrupt.  I raised my eyes and grabbed the phone from his hands, which just so happened to be 3 times the size of mine, and quickly put my number in his phone.

“Well…” Kaylan paused.  “We will see you later,” she said rolling her eyes.  She quickly grabbed my wrist and started to pull me to the store again “Come on slowpoke,” she said laughing her head off.  I smirked and checked my phone to see if the boy had texted back yet.

Later that night, we started to text more and more.  Honestly I’ve never liked a guy as much as I liked him.  Sometime that month, he asked to meet me up at the mall because he wanted to see me.  I quickly agreed and met up with him there in about an hour.  The second he laid eyes on me, he dashed over and pressed his lips against mine.  I kissed him back and it seemed to last forever.

But then the rumors started.  Maybe you wanted to make people jealous, Max,  or maybe you just wanted to hurt me. Why did you tell people we did other “things” that night, mate? Honestly everyone has heard the stories of what we did that night at the mall.  But the story most of you don’t hear is the truth.  So thank you, Max;  I could say it all started because of you.
