"Mine is better."

"It is not!"

Taehyung casts a glance over at his pouting newlywed wife sitting in the passenger seat of his car and grins. "You're just mad because you added too much black to the green paint and your grass turned out darker than it was supposed to."

Wheein puffs her cheeks out in irritation. "I did that on purpose! My painting is better because it's better. Now shut up and drive or I'll toss yours out the window."

"Getting rid of evidence is a sign of guilt," Taehyung teases cheekily, before turning back to focus on the road. The two of them are returning home from their couple's painting date night, one of their favorite weekend traditions that they've had since they started dating back in college. Despite officially becoming husband and wife, there hasn't been too big of a shift to their overall routine and Taehyung's glad for that. It's far more peaceful compared to what happened back when his brother and sister-in-law finally tied the knot a few years ago. No one except for his sister-in-law had expected his brother to suddenly declare that he was moving out into the outskirts of rural Seoul to become a farmer of all things, Taehyung included.

"I'm sending a picture to Byulyi unnie and Seokjin oppa to have them vote on whose is better," Wheein grumbles, holding her phone up to snap a quick photo of the two paintings drying on top of the car dashboard, the paint on the canvases still wet from their session.

"They're just going to say whichever one you painted is better," Taehyung whines in protest. "They always side with you."

"Just because they don't baby you when I'm around doesn't mean you have to be jealous," Wheein giggles.

"Not jealous," Taehyung mutters begrudgingly, turning on the car's right blinker and glancing up at the rearview mirror before switching to an inner lane. He glances up one more time, just out of a habit that his brother taught him when they were younger, only to see an eerily familiar looking car following behind. That same car had been parked across the street from the venue where they had been during their date earlier. "Hey Whee?"

"Hmm?"

"I'm gonna take a detour, okay? Change things up."

Wheein's brow furrows in confusion and she looks up from her phone. "Huh?"

"Just trust me, okay?" Taehyung's hands feel clammy as he tightens his grip nervously on the steering wheel, turning his right blinker on once more and swiftly taking the next exit. Sure enough, the black sedan follows. His stomach drops as he takes another right at the next light. This can't be happening. "What'd they say about the paintings?"

"Byulyi unnie said they're both good and Seokjin oppa said they're both ugly," Wheein laughs as she reads the reply on her phone screen, unaware of her husband's nervousness. Taehyung would rather keep it that way if he can.
