Unfolding the Clandestine

___________________________

It was already 7:00 in the evening. I felt sore, I have to tell him what I really feel at least before he leave. But how? Bahala na…

I went to their house. Topaz was sitting alone outside the gate.

“Topaz, where is Diamond? I need to talk to him.”

“Diamond?” he smiled strained “He’s inside.”

I was about to enter their gate when Topaz equivocate.

“Still remember the day he gave you flowers and candles?”

“huh?”

“It was my plan. I told him that scented candles were your collection and you love flowers. On that time, we will be going abroad to spend vacation in Minnesota , we will not be with you on Nov. 3 … on your birthday…”

“do you mean…”

“he didn’t tend to insult you. He was about to give you an advance gift.”

My eyes became teary. All my hate for him melted after hearing those words. I detest myself for hating a person as benevolent as him. He doesn’t deserve to be treated the way I treated him. But it’s now too late, he’s leaving.
