As my body stands still my heart beats slower in sadness. I can only seem to hear muffles of voices around me . I look around scared that everyone will stare at me. I try to get on the subway peacefully and quickly. I step on the rail shaking from anxiety.
I look for a seat with my head down. I spot one in the very back, where I can be by myself.
*20 minutes later*
My phone began to ring. It's mami, she's probably worried that I didn't take my medicine.
"Hello"
"Hija estás casi en casa"
"Si, I'm almost home, I'm walking as we speak"
"Bueno"
She hangs up. My heart starts to tighten up, when I walk past a familiar face. It sends a shiver through my entire body. I look for the face again but it disappears into the crowded station.
