In the small religious town of Coal Creek, West Virginia and it's neighboring backwoods, there's a collection of sinister characters-from an unholy preacher to a twisted couple, a crooked sheriff, a small school teacher, and the town rebel all converge around young Arvin Russell as he fights the evil forces of the town that surround him and his family.
Everyone has a past, some are just darker than others. Somehow, they all connect together one way or another.

When a part Reagan Montgomery's past comes up again, she gets drawn back to the one boy she hasn't spoken to in years. While he helps her try to figure out what happened to them, Reagan returns the favor and helps him with what he's doing.
