"Kirk, bring the last one, let's get this over with already".
"Yeah, sure Jed".

My eyes snapped open and my lips twitched with confusion as I realized the unfamiliar voices and environment.

The marble floor of the sitting room was now replaced by a hard metal, and the aggressive sunlight hissed at me with no roof as a shade.

My eyes gleamed on the realization of where I was. Yes, I was outside, not just outside my room but outside the house.

"Wait, outside?!!! I'm outside" I exclaimed, my heart and entire body leaping with joy and excitement. I jumped up from the floor with my mask clenched tightly between my fingers.

Whoops! I found my body all wobbly and loosing balance, now remembering my lack of skills in standing and walking.

My body clashed against a figure, it's body slightly warm and and the fabric soft and silky. I could hear the slow but steady thumping of its heart.

"Wait heart?" I withdrew my body in an instant, almost loosing balance yet again. I adverted my attention, now meeting the surprised gaze of a pair of crystal blue eyes.

I stood firmly unable to speak, "a human being" I thought.
I never pictured myself talking to someone that wasn't mother, father, Asta or my personal teacher, or rather even coming so close.

In the aspect of communication, I was nearly clueless.
Racking my brain for a while, I finally decided, this was my chance to speak to someone and probably make myself a friend.

According to my books, questions and introductions were the best way to start a conversation.

So I went with it, "so you're a human being, a real person?" That was a good question right? I thought to myself.

He gave me and awkward stare, not replying to my question as if insinuating he had not even heard me or my question was stupid.

"Errmm...I don't think I shoul...."

"Fangs" i interruptingly whispered under my voice, as memories of Asta's bloody neck and the vampire that bit him played in my mind.

He had fangs, I drew my steps backwards, my survivor instincts urging me to run. But that was definitely pointless, judging by my known information on vampires, I couldn't possibly outrun him.

Oh come on, I couldn't even outrun a normal human if he were walking, so what were my chances against this vampire.

A lot of thoughts raced through my mind as fear and rage pulsed through my veins. He had probably sensed my fear by now, because my body was evidently vibrating and my legs rapidly shuddering.

His surprised look was immediately overthrown by a frown.
"Kirk! What's the hold up for?, I'm going ahead"
"Nothing Jed, I'm coming" he responded.

Before I could realize it, he had closed the distance between us in less than a second, and now had his hand tightly gripping my wrist.
"Let go of Ava" I struggled but to no avail.

After being pulled several unstable steps forward, he lifted my small frail body up with ease and placed me above his left shoulder, probably getting tired of my constant stumbling.

I guess this was the right time to protest, but again was there really any point in doing so?
To be honest I was really enjoying my position way up here.

The soothing feeling of the passionate wind gently grazing my flawless skin and leading my long silky silver hair left and right. "So this was the privilege tall people enjoyed", I thought as I cursed my height. I wasn't extremely short, but rather just the right feet and inches of an average heighted human, ok maybe a little shorter than that.
