Original Story/Poem

I trekked over the crunching sounds of the dead leaves beneath my feet. My head down as I marched forth towards a certain place in mind. I noticed many names engraved on stones from my sides, knowing that soon their fate would also be mine. Harboring the burden, the tension I'd plagued. My life slowly crumbling to the bitter sound of silence.

Words now lost, I continued my tread. The sounds of the rumbling clouds comforted me, knowing that I'm alive. My stroll came to a stop, as a single Stonehenge laid in front of me, as the name it depicted brought tears unto my eye. The solemn voice of old, now living amongst the skies.

I knelt beside the grave, as I'm surrounded by many others around me. Her time was short, yet I still fail to see. I remember the day when you first came into my life. How we danced and sang, till we can no more. There's a place in my heart for you, and I hope there's one for me in yours.

Now the day has turned dark, as I still kept my gaze. How I failed you, blinded me with rage. Regret is a common thing we all share, yet a few suffered more while others couldn't care. I sat myself beside you, not caring how I fair. Because soon my love, I will meet you there. I felt myself trembling and I couldn't mend. Wait for me, my love, my journey came to an end.
