"Y/N!"You let out an annoyed groan as you heard your best friend call your name for the millionth time. You forcefully shut your eyes and pinched the bridge of your nose, responding with a forced "What?"
B/N completely ignored the tone in your voice and slipped back next to you on your bed, shoving their phone right into your face. "Look at these!" B/N's excited and joyful tone was the only thing keeping you from snapping. You took the phone from their grip and scrolled through what seemed to be pictures of the Fazbear's Fright horror attraction that they've been constantly nagging you about. You hummed in interest as you inspected the photographs of the interior of the attraction, noticing the smallest things like the bizarre drawings all over the walls to the star decorations hanging from the ceiling of the halls. "That's kind of cool, I guess. Creepy vibes from the childish drawings-" You were cut off by B/N snatching their phone from your hand as they got a notification, desperately tapping at the screen to open what seemed to be an email.
"YES!"
The sudden loud cry made you flinch, your heart skipping a beat as B/N jumped off of the bed with incredible force. You watched with wide eyes as they skipped and cheered all over your room, blinking slowly as they sat back down, still twitching with excitement.
Right when you were about to open your mouth to ask, you were cut off by B/N once again. "Y/N, I just got an email from the guys working at Fazbear's Fright."
You sat there, staring at B/N as they abruptly paused, re-reading the letter. "And..? What'd they say?" You urged them on, nodding as they took in a breath and resumed.
"They said.." B/N turned their phone off and placed it down, dramatically closing their eyes as they folded their hands on their lap.
"I START WORKING THE SHIFT TOMORROW!"
You let out a small laugh as you watched B/N's undying energy return. They resumed their ridiculous, childish hopping and cheering, and you, loving your best friend, couldn't help but get onto your feet and join them.
The next day, 11:35 PM.
You were in your car driving B/N to Fazbear's Fright for their first shift. You lightly hummed along to the song playing on the radio, the beat being somewhat of your taste in music. You paused and glanced over at B/N, who seemed almost nervous. Your brows furrowed slightly as you asked, "Hey, what's up? Why are you all nervous?"
You could see B/N quickly turn their head to face you as you kept your eyes glued to the road, driving carefully. You paid close attention to what B/N had to say regardless, "U-Uh.. yeah, so, I might've skipped over one small thing about Fazbear's Fright..." B/N twiddled their thumbs anxiously as they kept their eyes on you.
"Really? I find that hard to believe judging from the fact that it's all you talk about now," You mocked B/N, a smirk tugging at the corner of your mouth. You shot another glance at them, genuine concern growing on your face as you saw how serious their expression was. "B/N?"
"There's an animatronic attraction. They've confirmed that it can be hostile at times, that's why I had to sign a contract. I can't sue them if I leave the building with any injuries. It's not just the animatronic, the ventilation system is really fucked up and I can probably pass out if I don't fix it in time during the shift. It's a really dangerous job, Y/N."
It took you a moment to process B/N's words, but as soon as it hit you, you pulled over to a vacant spot in a nearby market's parking lot. You parked the car and turned off the radio, looking over at B/N, a twisted expression plastered on your face. "Are you out of your mind?! Do you have any idea of how fucking crazy that is? B/N, you can DIE! How the hell are you going to do this? WHY would you do this?!" You yelled at them, concern and anger merged into your tone. Your eyes were wide and your hands flailed everywhere as you spoke.
"Yes, I know! But this is something that I want to do! I want to find out what the fuck is going on with Freddy's. Y/N, I need to do this, even if it's the last thing I do." B/N's voice dialed down at the end of their response. Their warm smile and reassuring eyes weakening your anger and concern.
You let out a shaky sigh as you leaned on the steering wheel, staring out of the windshield as you noticed small rain drops start falling down, one after the other. "Okay.. If this is something you really want to do, then I completely support you. I just need you to do one thing for me, B/N," You looked at your best friend in the eye, watching as they slowly nodded.
"Promise me,
promise me you'll come back home safe."
B/N's breath hitched at the rather large promise. They were unsure about making the vow, and visibly hesitated, but before you could notice, they quickly took your hand and stared into your eyes. B/N smiled at you, a genuine, lovely smile.
"I promise."
You smiled back at B/N and slowly slipped your hand out of their grip, placing it back on the steering wheel. You pulled out of the parking lot and made your way back onto the road.
11:54 PM.
You arrived just in time for B/N's shift, and you let out a breath you hadn't realized you had been holding. Your eyes gazed upon the large attraction in front of you as you pulled into the parking lot in front of it. You slightly squinted your eyes as you tried to get a better look through the pouring rain. You parked in a random spot, since it was empty except for one other car that was there.
"There it is, in all its glory," B/N sighed out, a small smile cracking onto their face. They averted their gaze to you, a light chuckle slipping from their lips.
You couldn't help but smile back, their joy being enough to warm up your entire soul. B/N seemed so happy, and you were happy for them. But that small voice in the back of your head keeps on telling you otherwise. You were afraid for them.
After a very intimate moment of the both of you staring into each other's eyes, you reached for their shoulder and gave it a good pat. "It's time for you to go," You smiled at them, pulling your hand back as they nodded, grabbing the handle of the door to leave.
B/N hesitated, and as soon as you went to say something, you were pulled into a tight, warm embrace. You hugged B/N back, slowly wrapping your arms around their torso as you buried your face into the crook of their neck. B/N pulled away.
"I'll see you later, Y/N."
You didn't even get the chance to say goodbye. You watched as B/N dashed through the rain and into the attraction.
"Night guard at new Fazbear's Fright attraction found dead."
