Elle, I'm honored you consider me as one of your 18 candles. Debut is the time where the debutant pick out those people who are close to her heart to witness her special day, and I'm glad I'm one of those people for you.
I saw your tweet last week, dear girl. How's your debut preparations? I bet it's stressful based from what I've read.
There are many people who wanted to be on your special day and there's so many suggestions and unsolicited opinions about the motifs and themes. Don't mind them. Remember, it's your day. You do you.
Back when I was turning 18, I also had the same experience. I also had a hard time deciding on who to put on list especially on the 18 Roses. My boyfriend at that time wanted to be my escort or the last dance. The Eighteenth Rose is supposed to be the most important one, and you know what, Elle? I'm happy I listed him as my sixteenth rose and made my father the eighteenth rose instead.
You may not understand this now, but please don't do it. Do not make your boyfriend, your situationship, your talking stage or whatever love interest you have the last Rose. Don't do it, it's not worth it. I mean, he can be one of the Roses, but don't make him the last one. Just don't.
Speaking of debut, if meron man akong regrets during my debut planning, it was when I didn't even consider my favorite Tito as one of my 18 Roses because I thought he would decline. Napangunahan ako ng takot sa rejection... He doesn't have a family and daughter so iyon sana ang perfect time para ma experience man lang niya bago siya nawala.
Anyways, enjoy the stressful process of debut preparations. I'm so excited for you, Elle!
With love,
J ♡Ps. Do you mind if I call you Elle? It suits you.
Pps. Call me if you need some help.
