Emily's POV
"Lost me? I don't even know you." Riley says, her eyes blank.
"Riley?"
"Yes Emily?"
"You know me?" I ask.
"Yeah of course. Why wouldn't I?" Then a doctor comes in and tells us to leave for a minute. When he comes out, he's emotionless.
"Ok. So she remembers everything and everyone, except James."
"Why doesn't she remember him?"
"I think it's because he was last with her."
"This can't be happening." James says, his eyes yelling fear. "How can she not remember me?"
"She might never again know the old James. But you can make her know the new." And with a that, he walked away. James sighs and walks back into the room.
"Riley, I know you don't know me, but I know you. So please, try to remember. Try to remember all the good times we had." After a minute or two, riley shakes her.
"Im sorry... James? But I can't."
"Maybe you should go on a walk." I suggest. They nod.
Riley's POV
Once we get outside we start walk into the park.
"So, uh tell me about yourself." I ask.
"Im best at breakdancing. I have trouble with Math."
"I'm good at math." I cut in.
"I know that. I know everything about you. That your funny. That you don't like being called babe. That you have a really cute laugh-"
"James, that's enough." I laugh.
"Don't laugh!" He says, stoping.
"Why?"
"Because. It'll make me want to kiss you." He says striding away. I sit down on a bench, lost in thought.
James' POV
I walk back to the hospital and go back to her room.
"James, what's wrong? You look down." Emily asks.
"Wouldn't you if you girlfriend doesn't know who you are?"
"That would be my boyfriend. Yeah I'd be down."
"I just wish she remembered."
"James. I don't think you can make her fall in love with the old. But I know you can make her fall in love with the new."
"Thanks Emily." Riley then walks in.
"Hey guys. Look who I bumped into." Chloe comes in, waving.
"Hey, sorry James Riley told me about her not, you know, remembering you."
"It's ok. I'll find a way to cope." I grab Riley's arm and force her to sit down beside me.
"Oh ok." She laughs. Grrrr her laugh!
"I said don't laugh!"
Emily's POV
"But I have to laugh!"
"No you don't!" James takes his hands wraps them around her mouth, causing her head to go on his lap.
"Mph!" She mumbles trying to get away. I give a Chloe a look and we leave the room silently.
"Their to cute!" Chloe squeals.
"I know, and Riley can't even remember him!" We watch them from the doorway, laughing and wrestling. Riley breaks free and starts running around the room. James grabs her and places her over his shoulder.
"James!" She giggles.
"I won't put you down till you remember me!"
"But that's unfair!"
"Well it's unfair to me that you can't remember me!" He says putting her down, his hands on her waist. She then leans in and kisses him.
