With a swift tap on her watch, their weapons were rendered useless as the men attempted to shoot in response. Unclipping herself from the ceiling, Isabella ran at a group of men who seemed to panic at the thought of being defenceless. Eteon relied far too heavily on weapons and not at all on combat.
Kicking the first man in the back of the legs, he collapsed to the floor and was quickly knocked out with a painful whack of Isabella's gun. Moving onto the next, she didn't stop to pause, knowing that the sooner she could get rid of Brixton's men, the easier it would be to get her boys out along with Hattie and the cure.
After taking out about six men, the rest finally seemed a little more prepared, some even fancied their chances of fighting back. Nonetheless, they were easy enough to deviate around, and after a good few minutes, the majority lay groaning on the floor in pain or straight up unconscious.
Whilst she had fought his army of men, Brixton had ordered some men to go away to guard Hattie, assuming that this was all part of a big plan to help her escape. It was, of course, and no amount of guards was going to stop her.
"You put on quite the show." Brixton sneered, strolling towards her intimidatingly as Isabella reloaded her gun behind her back, lifting it to aim at his chest. As she fired, he moved rapidly, almost at the speed of light, so that only one of the bullets grazed his arm. It was a minor hit on him; she needed a lot more than that.
Isabella twisted skilfully as a punch was thrown in her direction, attempting to kick the man in the process, but his speed was unmatched. She couldn't even comprehend what was happening as she suddenly went flying backwards into a large, metal storage container, which clattered loudly as her back smashed against it.
Isabella groaned loudly, pushing herself up to her feet as her neck cracked from the impact. She knew a fight against Brixton wasn't one she could win on one, so she needed to think perceptively.
Meanwhile, Deckard, Luke and Owen tugged at the chains desperately, but even they couldn't rip themselves from the iron grip. They needed to think of a more logical way to escape, and fortunately, a familiar figure appeared in their peripheral vision as a stream of blonde hair appeared from behind a surgical curtain.
Hattie came running out with bloody knuckles and a small medical machine, which she dropped on Luke's lap, ignoring the shouts from her brothers as she dived onto Brixton's back, smashing him over the head with a gun multiple times with her legs wrapped around his neck. He dropped Isabella ungracefully, who he had pinned against the unit, pulling the Shaw girl off him with a force that sent her skidding along the floor.
"Get them chains off them, Hat." Isabella hissed, running back at Brixton, this time attempting to slide underneath his legs and slash his ankles. She managed to slice the smallest inch of skin, but he was too smart to receive any kind of severe injury.
Hattie obeyed quickly, leaving Isabella to manoeuvre around the man who had practically been transformed into a superhero. Or a supervillain. Deckard and Hobbs shouted instructions at her as she began untwisting chains and pressing buttons on the locks. Hattie could hardly hear herself think as she tapped away at the electrical system that secured down the three men.
It took everything in her to ignore the fight occurring behind her, Hattie wanted nothing more than to help her best friend, just as Isabella had helped her in her times of need. However, she focussed, and soon enough, the chains unclicked.
Hattie locked eyes with Deckard as they shared an anticipating look. The trio tore their arms from the chains, which slacked away with the lack of tension. Hobbs rose to his feet, cracking his neck and stretching his shoulders like he'd had a year-long nap. They'd had an easy job compared to Isabella.
Suddenly, something hard and cold pressed against Hattie's temple as she stepped away from the machine, freezing at the threat. Brixton wasn't stupid, he had seen Owen, Deckard, and Luke escape their bounds and had left Isabella groaning on the floor in pain. He was just too fast for any normal person to beat.
"Put your hands up!" Brixton ordered authoritatively, pushing the gun against Hattie's head menacingly as the three men remained motionless in a line. They hoped that Brixton wouldn't dare to kill the youngest Shaw before getting the virus out of her, but he was unpredictable, they couldn't take any chances.
Hobbs slowly raised his hands, and the Shaw brothers followed in pursuit. Deckard glared at the formidable man, unable to believe that they once had been the best of friends. It seemed comical now.
His eyes flicked between Hattie's predicament and Isabella, who winced in pain as she rose to her knees. He hated the fact that his plan had gone sideways so quickly, it was insane how efficient Eteon were at learning of their appearance. Deckard had plotted to keep Hattie and Isabella as far from danger as possible, and now they were the two who were in peril.
"I knew you were many things, Shaw," Brixton began lowly, ushering backwards with his arm wrapped around Hattie's neck, "But I never took you for a liar. You could have told us where Isabella was, and then Hattie never would have had to die so soon. It's a shame, such a pretty face."
Deckard sneered, taking a step forward as Hattie fidgeted in Brixton's arms, "But then again, love can make you do stupid things."
What Brixton didn't see coming was Isabella as she smashed a metal pole against the side of his head, causing him to stumble to the side in shock, releasing his grip on Hattie giving her the perfect opportunity to slip away.
As Brixton regained his balance, she sent another swing at him, however, with burning eyes and super-fast reflexes, he stopped it mid-air. Isabella's heart stopped as she dropped the pole, rolling out of the way as Deckard and Luke charged towards him.
Owen and Hattie ran to recollect their weapons, spinning around back to back as they surveyed the rest of the area. It was bizarre that no other men were coming to help him, it seemed much too convenient for them, almost like a trap.
"What's happening?" Isabella questioned anxiously and out of breath, leaning against Hattie as they watched Brixton collapse against the storage unit. He needed to restore his energy, even genetically modified humans couldn't go on forever.
"Is this a trap?" Luke queried, unwilling to take his eyes off Brixton in case he made another move. Instead, he did something much more sinister. He began to laugh.
It echoed maliciously around the empty hall, scolding their ears and sending an awful feeling rushing through their bodies. Deckard turned back, sharing a glance with Isabella, whose eyes were filled with apprehension. Something was about to happen.
"Did you think I was the only secret weapon Eteon has?" Brixton chuckled, slumping his head back against the cold metal. He had a prominently content gleam in his eye as a single set of footsteps could be heard, clicking against the ground conspicuously.
Everyone held up their guns immediately, spinning around to find the source of the sound. It grew nearer and more threatening with every step. Something inside Isabella grew, and whether it was worry or fear, she didn't know. It was something unlike any other.
Finally, the noise stopped abruptly, and a dark shadow loomed over them from on top of the storage container. Dressed head to toe in a suit just like Brixton's, the figure stood, gazing down at the five guns aimed straight at him. They didn't know if it would do any good, but what choice did they have?
"It's been a long time." The voice rang out, and Isabella felt her blood run cold.
Reaching up to remove his mask, a face Hattie nor Isabella ever believed they would see again was revealed.
None other than Blake Ford glared down with his signature smirk, "Hello, little sister."
